Grant found himself back at the library a couple of days later, waiting for Jamie to arrive. It was unlike her to be late but not to arrive at all had him a little worried. He was getting ready to leave when someone caught his attention. It was the mayor. He had shown up to unlock the doors to the library and disappeared inside.
He waited for another thirty minutes to see if anyone else was going to show up unannounced. Perhaps this was a trap to draw him into the open and do away with him. But Grant was one of those guys that acted first and asked questions later. He got out of his car and headed up the library steps and inside.
