Faye's POV Zoe insisted that I spend the night at her place, but I insisted that she drive me home instead. "You should stay over at my place and probably talk about what spooked you. You obviously look disturbed," Zoe said worriedly. "I am fine Zoe. I promise you. Please take me home," I said and Zoe instantly stopped insisting and drove me home. It was way after midnight when I opened the main door with my keys and walked in. I knew everyone was asleep so I didn't wait in the sitting room. I headed straight to my room with my mind straying back to the male with the brooding look and dangerous aura around him. I walked into my room, relying on my wolf vision. I dropped my shoes and bag. I decided that I wasn't going to remove my dress and just go to sleep but the sudden light that flooded the room startled me and almost blinded me because of the impact on my sight. "I guess you have forgotten your place as the Luna of this pack right?" Rex asked before my sight could adjust to the sudden brightness. I had not noticed him standing there. One, my mind was preoccupied with my experience with the male at the club, and two, I was used to having his scent in my room so I didn't know that he was there. "You scared me," I said as my eyes focused on him where he stood beside the room switch. "And you should be scared, Faye. You are the Luna of this pack yet you behave so irresponsibly?" Rex said with anger and my back went straight as anger seeped into my heart. "I have done nothing to be ashamed of Rex," I said gritting my teeth. "Really? You dress up like a slut and go off to only where you know and return after midnight. Yet you have not done anything to be ashamed of?" Rex said with each word marked with anger. "Get out of my room Rex," I said then turned my back to him. I totally ignored the look of surprise on his face. For some unknown reason, I wanted him gone. It was the first time since we knew each other that I looked him in the face and told him to get out. I had always found a reason to make him stay with me. "This is my house. I can stay anywhere I want to, anytime I want to," Rex said obviously livid. "Fine. You can have the room to yourself since it is your house," I said then turned around to leave him in the room but he was on me in seconds pinning me against the door. I rolled my eyes. It was the second time that night that a male would be pinning me in a spot. It made me angrier but I did not attempt to push him away. "How dare you try to walk away from me?" Rex asked with his wolf's aura pouring over me in gallons. "I need my peace Rex and if walking away from you would..." "Is that a male scent on you?" Rex asked cutting off my words then started sniffing me. I simply rolled my eyes but stopped midway when I realised that the male I met at the club had me pinned against the wall and his body was practically resting on mine so his scent was definitely going to rub off on me. "Listen Rex, I can explain," I started but instead of listening, Rex cursed, stepped away from me, and started pacing, running his hand through his hair as if there was pain in his head. "What the hell do you have to explain Faye?" Rex asked when he eventually stopped pacing and his eyes were alternating between his and his wolf's. I knew then that I had to tread carefully. One wrong word and he would snap. "I went to a club and some clumsy guy got drunk and he fell on me," I lied. "Fell on you or fell into you? Which one Faye?" Rex asked and I instantly stopped feeling sorry and got angry. "How dare you accuse me of sleeping around?" I asked gritting my teeth. "Look at yourself, Faye. A married and mated female, the Luna of a pack, the supposed mother of the pack. You wore those damn clothes and went to a club. If you were in my shoes what would you think of yourself?" Rex said throwing his hands up dramatically. "You should like the way I am dressed, Rex. Veda wears dresses like this and you can barely keep your eyes off her," I said glaring at him. "Veda is not my mate, she is not my Luna. She can wear whatever she wants. You are a Luna. You should lead by example," Rex said. "Oh! So leading by example involves me wearing clothes straight from the antics? Well, news flash my dear husband, henceforth, I will dress the way it pleases me," I spat. Rex was on me and choking me before I could think. I scratched at his hand bug but he wouldn't let go. "I dare you to wear slutty clothes. I will kill you with my bare hands instead of you w*****g yourself," Rex said then let go of me. I fell to the ground and crawled away from him as I coughed hard. Rex had never been that way with me. He was getting worse as time went by. Tears flowed down my face freely as I watched him with his back turned to me. My throat felt as if his fists were still tightly wrapped around it. I had to open my mouth to breathe through it so that I could get enough air in before I passed out. "The Alphas' convention is in two days and you are coming with me. Get ready. It is a five-day event," Rex said then stormed out of my room. My heart sank lower after he left. I curled up on the floor beside the bed and cried like a child. Rex hurt me physically. It was the first and I hoped it wasn't the beginning of what he intended to do often.
