OLIVIA When I put all my leftovers in the bag, I put them on my shoulder. “Where are you going?” I stopped when I heard his cold voice. I slowly turned around. “I am leaving, Wilson.” He leaves on the door. You’re staying at La Paz Hotel, right?” My eyes widened. “How………” “How many times do I have to tell you?” He approached towards me and stood in front of me. “That if I am going to hell, I’ll take you with me.” “I don’t want to, Wilson.” “It doesn’t matter how you feel, Olivia. I don’t care. You will live here in this house with me.” This promise was weak but strong. “I’m scared of things you can still do to me. You treat me like trash, your friends almost rapped me—I don’t know, Wilson. I am tired.” I couldn’t stop crying. His gaze went straight to my arm again. I winced as he gently touched it. I just watched his cold expression change again. But before long his face went blank again and let go of my hand. “I’ve already called the hotel. They will deliver your things here tomorrow.” “Wilson, this isn’t right anymore.” “The pain you feel now is nothing compared to what I felt when she broke up with me.” After saying that he left his room. Two days later I was surprised when he invited me to a business party and bought me a dress. That was literally the first time I received something from him. “Come on, Olivia. Don’t let papa embarrass us.” Wilson said emphatically to me as we entered the hotel where the business party was being held. All investors, business partners and directors were there at the party so we shouldn’t get lost. They wanted to meet the wife of Smith’s only heir because some of them did not attend the wedding. After all, Wilson had recovered from his fever two days ago, the doctor allowed him to go for the party. I just nodded here and put my left hand in his arm. I took a deep breath to calm my aching heart. I only touched Wilson once but it gets worse when my heart speeds up. As soon as we entered, many people approached Wilson. They greeted and said hello. Wilson slowly removed my hand from his arm unnoticed by his interlocutors. I put my hands on my side and smiled hard at those who were talking to me so that I seemed to be listening even though I couldn’t understand what they were talking about. The gaze of an elderly man fell on me. “You must be…” “I am Olivia, Sir.” I reached out my right hand to shake hands with him, instead he took it and put it on his lips. Eww. This is disgusting. “You have a very stunning wife, Mr Smith.” He says that and didn’t take his eyes off me. Wilson just smiled at him and his attention returned to the interlocutors. I looked at the man again and he was still looking at me. The feathers rose because of what I could say in his eyes. I looked up to Wilson but he didn’t even care though I was already staring into the man’s eyes. I hid a little behind Wilson to hide half of my body. I relaxed as Wilson said goodbye to them to go to the rest adults sitting near us. I followed Wilson as he walked towards them. We sat down and the three started talking. They are married. And have been married for thirty years. The sweetness of the two of them was still obvious. What will my future be like with Wilson if Sophie doesn’t come back? I took a deep breath and looked at Wilson while smiling at God interlocutor. He doesn’t look at me, he doesn’t talk to me, but I know he feels for me. “Mrs Smith? Olivia?” Wilson judged me weakly and loved sharply. I slumped in my seat. “H-huh?” “Pay attention, Olivia. Damn it.” Wilson whispered. Just enough for me to hear. “S-Sorry.” I cleared my throat and looked at the couple. “Ah, I am sorry?” “Business talks bore you, hija?” Said the lady. “Ah, no. Not really.” I answered quickly. She finished business administration, Mr Golazo, Wilson groaned. I bowed. Sophie graduated with a B.A. I am just a designer, like Mama. Sophie didn’t like business administration, Papa just forced her because she will inherit all his property. I also have an heir but, can I still expect big? Dad thinks I’m stupid because I just finished designing. “That’s wonderful!” Said the gentleman. Suddenly a gentle song played out. “Oh, wait… Nice song. Excuse us.” “Invite your wife to dance too, Wilson.” The lady said as she stood up to dance with her husband. Wilson just nodded and smiled. They stood up to dance. Then Wilson stood up and left me without saying a word. He went straight to a pile of businessmen. I took a deep breath. What else can I expect? Well he be sweet to me here at the party? It’s not bad to assume, is it? I also got up and started walking inside the hotel. I have talked to women I think were approachable. Since designing Is what I finished, I gave them advice on what matters to them or what they don’t wear. The others were offended but others were just fine with it. I said goodbye to my interlocutor and went out of the hotel. There is a gazebo and there are small falls in the middle, so it looks cold in the place. I stood at the falls and watched the waterfall there. It’s relaxing to look at. I looked up to the sky. Nice! Full moon. “Nice. It’s a full moon.” Someone with a baritone voice spoke behind me. I looked at him. My eyes widened as I recognized the man who owned the voice.” Y-You— When— Since… what?!” He smiled at my reaction. Good evening to the most stunning lady right in front of me.” “I’m the only woman in front of you right now, Nate.” Yes he’s here. Finally. Matter it’s been a long time. He inserted one hand into the pocket of his slacks. “I know ten years has been a long time but I figured you’d wait for me.” —— “So you’re leaving? When are you going to tell me?” I heard his teammates talking in the soccer field. It turns out that he’s going to Canada and that is where he will continue his college. Nate is my boyfriend. We are only nine month into the relationship. “I don’t dare to tell you,” He touched both my shoulders. “But, babe—“ “Are you going to leave me?” “No. No. I won’t. Never. I love you so much.” He said and kissed me on the forehead. If he does not leave me he won’t be able to fulfill boss dream of becoming a famous soccer player. Maybe he will blame me in the end for the reason his dream was thwarted. And I don’t want that to happen. “Nate, I don’t want to be an obstacle to your dreams. I know you want to be the best football player.” I copped his jar and looked straight into his eyes. I smiled sally. “I’m just here.” “Wait for me. I’ll be back. Promise.” He hugged me tightly. “Wherever I am, of you need me, I’ll come, babe” “Yes. I’ll wait for you.” “Olivia, I want you to remember this. I love you. Whatever happens, it will start that way. I will come back to you. Whatever happens, I will come back to you.” —— I averted my eyes from it. “Let’s not talk about the past, Nate.” “You’ve never changed, my love. You’re still the warm-hearted girl I loved and still love. I can feel it.” I was alarmed as he slowly approached where I was sitting. I cannot understand myself. I can’t move my feet away from it. “Nate.” I sighed when he hugged me tightly. “I missed you so much.” “Don’t, Nate.” I tried to push him. I’m married—“ “You’re married to Wilson smith. I know.” He moved a little away from me. He used his index finger to lift my save and line our eyes. “You love him?” Although I was shocked be what he said, I recovered immediately. “Yes. But he— It’s a long story, Nate. I-I need to go back.” I was about to passed him, but he suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me in front of him again. I saw the sadness in his eyes. “You forgot about me? Didn’t I say that I’ll get back to you? Why can’t you wait, Olivia?” I bowed. “I-I say you forgot about me too.” I heard that you got yourself a new girlfriend there. Most times I called your manager will be the one to answer and he also told me about the new girl you had. At first,I didn’t believe it. But One day I just watched you on television with a woman, you had a lot of pictures with this particular woman. One of them shocked me, that was a photo of you kissing this particular woman and at the same time, we lost communication. “How can I forget the only girl I feel in love with?” I averted my eyes from him. “I-I fell out of love, Nate.” “Yeah.I can see that.” He says sarcastically. “Nate—“ “You looked lovely. You seem to cry anytime. Let me guess, your father?” He touched both my cheeks and looked me straight in the eyes. Comfort. This is what I’ve been looking for a long time and not I just felt it again in Nate’s arms. I felt a familiar warmth. Only note did I notice how much I missed Nate. I suddenly hugged him. My tears flowed automatically. Ever since it disappeared, I have had nothing to pour out of resentment nothing to comfort me.I miss my best friend. “I’m sorry. I ruined your suit.” I laughed while holding the polo part of it. I walked away from here and turned around to fix myself. When I saved the dear, he was looking at me intently. Even if he didn’t say anything, I could see the astonishment. He was looking at my arm that was still red from the rupture. It turns out that my makeover wore out. It’s not so painful anymore! I hood it behind me. He opened his mouth, but I preceded him in saying anything. I sneezed. “Nate, I need to go back. M-Maybe Wilson is looking for me.” “When can I see you again?” He said seriously and held my hand. “ I don’t know, Nate. Please let me go.” “I have my ways, Olivia. I’ll have you again.” He said determinedly and let go of my hand. I turned away from it. “I waited for you, Nate. But I can’t wait that long. I’m sorry.” I said before going inside again. Admit it, we will never be the same. Even I entered, I went straight to the comfort room to retouch. My makeover was so messed up because I cried earlier. I let my guard down. Damn it! But it’s just Nate, isn’t it? He understands. No one inside. They are likely busy talking or dealing with others. It’s only a once in a lifetime opportunity to be invited to Parties like this. There are many recognizable tycoons all over the world here. I heard a woman growled. Am I haunted? When I looked at the fat cubicle it was obvious there were two people there. What the heck! Go to the comfort room. No manners! Didn’t they know it was a public toilet? How can they say— “Oh, Wilson…” I stiffened because I heard the woman moan. I quickly locked the comfort room door before anyone else could enter. Is it up to this point? Does he no longer choose a place? Finally, the door of the cubicle opened. A woman with a nest hair and makeup came out first. I stood up straight as a man followed. I was no longer surprised. He was more surprised to see me, but his expression immediately turned cold. “Oh. It’s your wife.” She said as her rites hovered all over me. “Look at you, Wilson.” He didn’t say a word and just nodded his head. I sneezed and took a deep breath. “I-I’ll just wait for you outside.” “Wait.“ I stopped and faced him. “Why?” “Fix my necktie.” He commanded. I looked at his necktie and started fixing it. I also tried keeping my distance so that I won’t get to touch him or him to touch me either. Every human’s patience has a limit. “Why do you seem to hate me so much? Come closer, Olivia.” He grabbed my arm, but I immediately removed his hand from there. His eyebrows met. I hastened to fix his necktie and the turned away. Even before I could get out he pulled my arms and pressed me against the wall. “Let me go, Wilson!” I’m sickof it. “You’re fighting now, huh?” He says angrily. I could smell the wine on his breath. “Get your filthy hands off me! You disgust me!” Sometimes we must fight because the pain is too much. He smirked. “Filthy, huh?!” “Let me go, Wilson! It hurts “You just saw your man and became brave.” My eyes widened. “How—-“ “You thought I didn’t see you?” He laughed sarcastically. I was so scared to see the anger in his eyes. “Stop—-“ He touched my hair. I almost closed my eyes when I felt my scalp tingle. “When someone else sees you, you will ruin my reputation and I will drag you deeper In hell. Do you understand?! What’s your answer?” “Yes. Please, let me go” I beg you. “Good.” He let me and went back to the party. I adjusted myself. My tears still flow when I remember what Wilson did. I felt my chest tighten so I immediately took my inhaler out of my purse and used it. When I came out, I immediately looked for papa. He was talking to Wilson. My whole body went cold when the eyes of the two landed on me. Wilson smiled and approached me. I Shuddered when He touched me. “Scared? That’s good.” Though trembling with fear I let him touch me. I smiled hard as we got closer to where dad was. Hi, Dad.” I can see in his actions that he I just forced to hug me. “If you meet your man, make sure no one sees you. You’re embarrassing me.” He whispered loudly in front of my ear. My eyes widened. I stayed away from him. “ No, Dad I can explain—- “Did anyone else see them, Wilson?” “No more. Just the Sandoval couple.” Wilson replied and gave me a sharp look. “You see that?! It’s better not to be taken to events like this. Even Wilson’s last name you’re taking it down!” He said in an angry voice. Fortunately, there aren’t too many people around us because they’re starting to turn around. It’s always me. If only you knew Dad. I envy people who have a caring father. I thought dad was the daughter’s savior. I just bow to what it He said? That’s enough, Dad. I’ll take care him.” Wilson stopped. Dad took a deep breath and swallowed good servers. “That’s good. This woman will kill me.” How many more times can I tell myself o can still do it? Got much longer can I endure?
