"Oh, I'm sorry. I just thought..." I said.
"Don't worry, Dr. Olivia, you're not going anywhere. You're one of our top surgeons and an invaluable asset as Chief of Surgery. I have no intention of letting you go, unless you choose to leave on your own terms."
"Your dedication to your work is unparalleled, and we can't afford to lose someone of your caliber. The administrators and I are in agreement: we want to keep you on our team. I hope you're willing to stay with us," he said.
I let out a sigh of relief, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders.
"Of course, I'm willing to stay," I said, smiling.
"Thank you for the vote of confidence, Dr. Smith. It means a lot to me."
