THE LONE ASCENSION

ARC ONE: CHAPTER SIX

As Katsu opened the door, he saw some creatures, with their names written on them. They were aliens. Their names were written in yellow, meaning they won't be easy to deal with. He stood at the door for some minutes then entered.

Upon entry, a screen popped up, stating his stat and the skills he can use. Then a system prompt appeared, asking if he wanted to begin the first trial.

At first, he was confused as to how to answer, then he said yes. The air in the arena changed, the aliens began to move.

Another system prompt appeared, 'Would you like to learn more about the test of shadow'. At first, he ignored, and then dashed toward the aliens, he strikes them but his strikes were not causing any damages. The system prompt appeared again.

He accepted, and a panel appeared.

'The test of shadow, is a test where the User learns, how to react, evade and kills silently. This test signifies the Assassin test, it opens the skill of shadow step, assassin instinct, silent blade, vanish, vital strike, poison mastery, enhanced Agility. During the test, User will unlock new skills, and encounter formidable enemies, Aiding the User's growth.'

After reading, the screen returned to the home page, a screen stating the attack level, critical rate, critical damage, HP, strength, experience level.

On the top right of the screen, his name and level were displayed. 'The Heir of The Eternity. Level: 1.'

On the screen, there are icons too indicating shop, skills, inventories, quest. On the top left, there are locked icons that are not yet revealed, and the number of life remaining.

Then an alert flashed, 'would you like to begin the test.' Katsu stood still for sometime, then he chose 'Yes.'

'After the test start, you won't be able to exit until you finish this stage of trial. Would you still like to proceed.' Katsu chose 'Yes.'

Then, numbers were allocated to the state on the screen.

ATTACK LEVEL-3, CRITICAL RATE-45%, AGILITY:2, CRITICAL DAMAGE-40%, HP:2000, STRENGTH:5, EXPERIENCE LEVEL: 6, NO. OF LIFE REMAINING: 9999. CURRENT TEST: TEST OF SHADOW: CURRENT TRIAL: TOWER OF NYX.

After the introduction on the screen, Katsu was carried away, unconscious about the alien approaching. They moved toward Katsu, and landed a s***h on him

"Ahhh," he screamed, the s***h caused an injury on him and his HP dropped to 1500. Aware that the trial has begun, he tore his cloth, and tied it to the wound and pulled out his sword, moved swiftly towards the alien but was overpowered. While still struggling with the aliens, another wave of aliens appeared.

"What!" He said trying to check is there is any information about it, but there was none.

"I've not even finished with these, another set has appeared." The. The screen indicated an incoming attack but before he could react, everything went dark. He died

He opened his eyes and everything resets, the aliens names has changed to white, signifying that they have became easy to deal with.

He stepped forward, took a deep breath, unsheathed his sword, and moved toward the army of alien. Slaying them one after the other. Each death prompts an alert to appear on his panel, and a reward is been given to him. Within minutes, he was finished with them.

His experience level had increased to level 7, and his Agility had increased to 4.

The other set of aliens appeared. They seem to be more lighted on their feet than those once he just fought. He fought them, became more stronger but each achievement comes with a price. DEATH.

After he had killed them, the notification pops up on the screen, telling him to proceed to the next stage of the trial.

Their after firing a numerous time, he realised he could now use his skills. So after fighting all of the aliens in the stage, the last one seems to be stronger to deal with. At the thought of it, the skills popped up.

"How does this Vanish works." He said and activated the skill. He became invisible but the invisibility lasted for 10 seconds based on his current level.

Seeing how it works, he dashed toward the last alien standing, who was in his guard, looking for him but the skill time ran out and as he was about to strike, the alien reacted to the attack and counter attacked and brought Katsu down. The darkness claimed him.

He woke up again, this time with his skill, they seems pretty easy to deal with. It began to get interesting to him. His level increases to 2, his HP:2350, Agility:5, Experience level:10, critical damage:41%.

When the alien that killed him appears again, he seems pretty confident to fight hi, and he used the skill perfectly, he cleared the stage. A notification pops up, Second stage completed, proceed to the next stage 3/5. He ascended the tower. It looked eerie. He saw a door and opened it. He saw some set of vessels, their name were written in Orange, meaning their difficulty level is quite hard, Katsu knew it won't be easy to deal with them. He sighed.

"Here we go" he whispered and enters.

Gradually, he levelled up and overcame the third and fourth stage. Then he arrived at the Arena of NYX.

NYX was seated on a building, looking at Katsu from the top of the hill, his name was written in red. He has six tentacles each holding different weapons. Katsu stood and looked around but couldn't find anything body, he let his guard down and then he received an alert of an incoming attack, he eyes widened at the incredible speed of the creature, he was unable to trace NYX movement. NYX landed an attack on him. He bleed.

"What is tha....." He couldn't finished his statement, Another light dimmed.

He woke up trembling and terrified. He moved with his eyes all over the place looking out for the creature that killed him.

"What was that thing?" He wasn't able to catch the track of NYX, after many attempt and deaths, he still wasn't able to beat NYX.

He thought of giving up, but luckily he saw NYX shadow, moving by the building.

"Got you," he smiled.

"Pesky trick that has killed me up to 400 times, I should have thought of this earlier," he said silently. He threw his dagger toward the shadow but the shadow vanished.

"I must have underestimate him, where did it go?" He asked rhetorically turning around with anxiety and fear of death.

A tentacles flung toward him, the screen notices him of an incoming attack and he dodged, held the tentacle, and cut it. NYX revealed from the shadows.

"This is how you do it." Katsu activated his vanish skill and vanished from NYX sight.

NYX confused about where he went, stood still and observing his footsteps. Katsu appeared behind him and attacked, but NYX dodged, and counter withe a spear in one of his tentacles.

"This one is hard to deal with." He said and looked at his remaining life's. He had 9457 life's left, HP-2000.

"How am I suppose to deal with it?." Then an alert flashed, revealing the enemy stats.

Enemy stats. HP:6000, AGILITY:25, STRENGTH-15. Katsu trembles as he saw the stats of NYX, unsure of what to do. He stood for some minutes thinking about what to do.

Then an Idea came to his mind. He dashed toward NYX, and prepare for an attack but NYX was to fast. NYX used his signatory skill, Shadow Veil. Katsu halted and activated his assassin instinct along aside with enhance agility skill.

With that, he was able to notice, and predict NYX attack faster than before and also Dodge perfectly. NYX swag one of his remaining four tentacles toward Katsu, but he dodges and sliced the tentacle into pieces.

NYX became furious and went all out against Katsu, using his skill Shadow Veil.

Katsu looked at his screen and see that his skill haven't cooled down yet but his enhanced Agility and. Assassin instinct skill are still on, he uses the opportunity to dash toward NYX. After a heated fight, NYX knocked Katsu out.

Katsu's HP dropped and he collapsed, but before he died, he figured that dust might be the weakness of NYX, and that's why he kept on killing him before he could make a move. After dozens of attempt and deaths, Katsu finally saw a pattern in the creature's movement.

He woke up again and his fight with NYX restarted. This time, he learns how to defend in a fight, using the enemies weakness against them

He lured NYX down form the top of the building, activated his vanish skill, and started making dust to NYX making him weaker and weaker. Then he activated his silent blade and vital strike skill. After few strokes, NYX died.

He sat down, exhausted. "That was hard." Katsu said breathing heavily. A notification pops up revealing his growth.

HP:900, ATTACK LEVEL:7, AGILITY-25, CRITICAL DAMAGE-60%, CRITICAL RATE-65%, STRENGTH:15, EXPERIENCE LEVEL:15, LIFE REMAINING: 9549

USER'S LEVEL:15,

An alert flashed: 'You have defeat NYX, claim reward'.

He checked the reward and accepted it.

He then say down to observe the screen when a message came in. 'You have unlock the shadow veil.'

Then he found himself at the front of the door. He became angry.

"Ahhhhh, what is this?;" He thought in frustration.

"Won't I rest?" He shouted in anger, then a system prompt appeared. 'Restore HP'. He accepted the request and his body felt alive again, his HP increases to 3000.

"Not bad." He said and stood up, reinforces himself and opened the door of test of Valor
