Chapter 14Misha
I suddenly awoke to a sound. I wasn’t sure what it was, but I know I heard something that wasn’t a natural sound of the woods. Lawson was still laying under my head with his arm wrapped around me protectively. I looked around the darkening forest and realized we had slept longer then we wanted to. I honestly don’t even remember falling asleep.
I sat up and grabbed for my pants. I still had my shirt on and I was thankful of that at this moment. I searched the area around me and tuned out all other sounds, but the one that I know I heard that didn’t belong out here with us. It took a few moments, but suddenly to my right I heard a branch snap. I stood and covered Lawson with the blanket. I jumped up into a tree that was closest to us and used it to try and scout the area. I
