Chapter 3 X wandered around a courtyard at the back of the hotel, dodging overgrown weeds and wildflowers, stepping around cracked cement and almost stumbling into an empty swimming pool. The setting sun lit up the horizon with fiery pink and orange ribbons. Dust and smoke hung in the air, remnants of a nearby fire that had finished its course.
