11 Luther shut off his engine and stared at Iris Rutledge’s house. He couldn’t say why he’d come here. But, after heading home to change out of his uniform, it seemed like a reasonable alternative to getting completely shitfaced. Plus, he didn’t have enough booze left in the house for that. Adam’s car was parked out front, but not Iris’s. That was good. Luther wasn’t sure he could face her right now.
