68 Evie had dozed off. Slept even. Where was she? Had the truck been moving again? It wasn’t now. She opened her eyes and peeked from behind her hood to see powdered dirt and grit and the curling end from a roll of Lifesavers on the floor of the truck. It was daylight. Crap! Evie held in a gasp and pushed down the urge to bolt as she pulled her hood back, turned her head slowly… and found a man staring down at her. He filled the open door.
