The condition he was in, no way was JJ letting Harlan out of her sight. Grant proceeded to Dead Hollow, and JJ rode with Teddy and Harlan after she’d dropped the girls off at Dorothy’s. The girls weren’t crazy about staying behind. They’d heard much more than they should have this afternoon, but it was better that they’d heard it firsthand than in bits and pieces from less reliable sources later. At least, that’s what JJ told herself. And Dorothy’s house was the best place for them now. A co-worker had brought Otto home from the hospital an hour or so ago, so he would give the girls (and Dorothy) something else to focus on.
