Chapter 8: Unexpected Visitors

"What do you mean the whole pack is dead?!" " I'm sorry your majesty the information we have coming in isn't 100% yet but our warriors should be here any minute now with a full report" . We received a call stating another pack was extremely ill and we immediately sent our three best healers to aid in their recovery, but it seems they either didn't make it in time or the were already so far gone there was nothing the healers could do. "We have got to figure out who is behind this! This is m*********r in the likes that have never been seen before! I want warriors stationed on the borders of the pack to see if anyone comes there for any reason. Maybe the one that did this will come back to admire their handy work" The King Alpha shook his head as he massaged his temples. Queen Luna Harmony entered the room feeling her husbands rising frustrations through their bond. "Don't worry dear I'm sure we will find some solution to this problem. I have a feeling that we will have answers very soon. Have you heard anything else from the Alphas?" "No my love not yet but they are having a meeting tomorrow so hopefully we will be able to find out some new information on who is believed to be behind this." Beta William had suddenly had a thought "Why don't we just leave tonight and join the Alphas meeting. That way we can share what we have and listen in person to everything they have and maybe even bounce some ideas off each other. A room full of Alphas coming up with a solution could help us even the playing field for whoever is behind these poisonings." " That's actually not a bad idea my love what do you think?" Queen Luna added. " That's actually not a bad idea at all. Will you accompany us my love?" he asked her. "Of course darling, I would follow anywhere" she replied. The King then turned to his Beta and asked " Would you please call Alpha Damon of Red Dawn and let him know we will be there for the Alpha meeting tomorrow?" " Of course your majesty" said the Beta. "We have been friends our entire life, I don’t see why you still can not bring yourself to call me Zion" " You are my best friend and it is because of the respect I have for you that I address you as your majesty." Beta William responded. "Could you please for my sake call me Zion when no one else is around. I can be King or your majesty for everyone else but you my friend are not everyone else." " For you my king I will try" I laughed as even in his response he didn’t really try but what can I expect it he hasn't changed after all these years I don’t expect he ever will. Well I guess I should go pack before we have to leave. The meeting is at noon so to get there and settle for a bit before the meeting we should leave about 4am. "Well my love let's go get packed and ready we will have to leave very early in the morning."

We have made good time so far and should be pulling up to Red Dawn Pack within the next few minutes. We are a little later than I had planned Harmony just could not get all her bags to fit the way she wanted even though we are only going to be there for a day. The meeting should be starting in 20 minutes and we are about 5 minutes away from the pack house. We pull up to the pack house and as usual before we step out I have Harmony put her veil in place. It may seem weird to you but we were attacked about 16 years ago. My Harmony was out with our 2 year old daughter at the park when our kingdom was attacked. Harmony quickly gathered our daughter in her arms and ran to the nearest bunker but was cut off by a group of rouges. The only thing she could do was fight her way through. So she placed our daughter next to tree and told her to hide. She shifted and fought with everything she had. Had I not felt the pain she was feeling as they bit into her sides and clawed at her I wouldn't have known she was in danger and she would not be here with me today. One of the rouges took the opportunity while she was down to grab our little girl and before I could make it to them they were gone. I hunted them for years trying to find our little girl but have been unable to locate any leads on her or the rouges that took her. In my rage I killed all the rouges that attacked my Luna before I could get any information and the ones we had captured alive had some sort of capsule they took while in holding cells that killed them instantly. With no new leads and so much time having passed we have just had to assume she was killed. Harmony has since been wearing a veil anytime we are out in public just in case those rouges realize who she is and who they have so hopefully they won't hurt for being the daughter of the King and Queen. As she slipped her veil into place I look out and can see all of the Alphas that came for the meeting line up with their Lunas and next in line if they have one.

As we stepped out we were welcomed by Alpha Damon" King Zion what a pleasure it is to see you, I hate that it is under such dire circumstances. Welcome to Red Dawn Pack and I'm sure you remember my mate and Luna Ann Marie." Luna Ann Marie curtsied and said "King Zion it is an honor to see you and Queen Luna Harmony again after so many years. I don't think you've met our adoptive daughter yet, this is Skylar Redfin" as the young woman stepped forward with her head held high I couldn't help but feel like I've seen her before and as I heard Harmony gasp beside me I realized where I have seen her before. She is basically the exact replica of my Harmony. "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS!" I roared. Everyone present bared their necks in submission to me as Harmony wrapped her arm around mine. "Calm down my love and we can get to the bottom of this." "You're right darling, let's move this inside as to no cause more of a scene." Alpha gulped and nodded his head as he led us into their home. "If all Alphas could head to the conference room, we'll be just a minute. Your majesty if you would follow me to my office we can discuss things further there." I nodded my head and Harmony and I followed behind Alpha Damon Luna Ann Marie and Skylar. I can't help wonder here she came from, the did say adoptive daughter.
