CHAPTER THIRTEEN. With Francis patched on my lap, I let my gaze fall on my mum and Nick sitting a few paces from us. They were chatting animatedly as though they were old buddies, smiling now and then.   “Mama,” Francis muttered tagging my hair rather painfully, pulling my attention towards him.   “Yes baby,” I answered, detaching her tiny fist from my hair.   “Where is Daddy?” he questioned, his d eyes staring at me so innocently. He had heterochromia with one eye being blue, my mother’s eye color and the other being half blue-half brown.  I felt a tiny wave of pain skid through my heart.
