Chapter Fifty
John
They jump into the water and start their dive while I sit on the deck of the boat drinking another coffee and scanning all my emails and messages. I open a text message from Olivia;
“Be at the yachts at five-thirty.”
I don’t respond to the message but wonder what she has planned for us. I continue to flip through my group chats and notice a conversation trend about the contracts we’re waiting to hear about. We’ve been in limbo, in complete silence, without a definitive conclusion from the authorities.
When Lilah is done with her dive she comes upstairs
“That was amazing. You should have seen it…”
She continues to enthusiastically share everything she saw and how cool it was. I listen to her talk and ask questions. Seeing her excited about the underwater world is g
