Chapter Fifty-Seven

I grab a few snacks and I eat while talking to Lilah. We’re all snacking and chatting. We’ve been out on the yacht for about two hours now, and I’ve sussed Lilah out. I’m not sure if she knows everything about John, as I do, but I can see they like each other, and that makes me a little solicitous. I’ve been around John for a long time now, and we work great together. I’ve asked him out to dinner before, but it’s as if he’s blind to notice my advances. He’s never shown real interest in me, but I’ve never given up and always hoped he would one day wake up and notice me. But at the same time, I’ve never seen him overly engaged with any of his staff.
