Chapter Seventy
Lilah
I take off my loose dress. My hair is still tied up, and I don’t want to get my face wet because my makeup will smudge. We go into the tide pool, fingers locked together.
I’m just so in love with him.
We step into the water and sit on one of the rocks, the waves crashing onto the wall keeping the water inside, and the water spray blows toward us. It’s a great place to cool down. I turn my head toward John.
“I have something I have to tell you.”
“I’m listening.”
I look him straight in the eyes
“I love you.”
He smiles back at me.
“And I love you!”
We kiss and stare out at mother nature. After sitting in the water for some time, we decide to continue on with the day’s plans and get dressed again. We head to the top of the hill on the paved road, but the climb
