I felt something touching my shoulder it tapped me one, two, three, four, five times. Sitting up quickly I slammed my head into something. That's when I realized I slammed my head against another person's head. What the hell? Who brings their head that close to someone else? Holding my head I looked up and was surprised.
Glen? Why is he here? Wait, is he the one whom I slammed my head against? Looking closely I knew my answer, I did.
Holding his head Glen laughed and said, "Dat's one hell hit ye have." Feeling embarrassed I said, "Well you shouldn't have gotten that close to me in the first place. Then I wouldn't have hit your head with mine." Sill rubbing my forehead I thought, I am surprised I didn't see him board the train. Laughing Glen looked at me like as if I was something of amusement as his skin seemed to return to normal.
Looking at Glen I said, "So how long have I been out?" Looking at me like as if he was guilty of actually watching me sleep he said, "Ye bein sleep was so much fun to watch I didn't pay attention to the time."
Why am I so embarrassed over that fact. I hid my face in my hands and asked, "What time is it?" Reaching in his pocket Glen looked at me and said, "Yer a quarter to twenty military times." Nodding my head I knew the time. I knew the military time because one of my family members was in the world war.
How many years ago was that? Shaking my head I smiled and said, "thanks" Looking at me with concern Glen said, "Yer too trusting Doll." Looking at him I said, "What is the point of being judgemental when I don't know someone? Besides, I don't trust you, but you are the first to talk to me since I left home." Most of what I just said is true. Nodding his head he said, "Still yer trusting."
Patting my head I felt like a little kid, "Glen I'll call you sir if you keep patting me." Looking at me like he took a sarcastic offense he removed his hand.
Feeling the weight of my head lessen I removed my hat and realized some of my hair came loose. Reaching underneath my hair I started to remove all the pins keeping my hair up. That was when my hair cascaded down my shoulders.
Looking over I realized that Glen was staring and reaching for my hair. With the quick movement of my hand, I slapped him. Supprised he looked at me and said, "Lass why ye hide yer hair?" I just don't want it to get in the way. I also don't want to cut it. How do I say that? Looking up at him I said, "My hair gets in the way but I don't plan on cutting it any time soon."
Nodding his head he asked, "So are ye headed?" Looking at him not bothered by the invasion of privacy and answered, "New York, the city that never sleeps." Laughing Glen patted my shoulder making it obvious to me that I am short.
Looking at him I asked, "Since you asked me where I am going. Why don't you tell me where you are going?" Nodding his head he said, "Well little miss I am going to New York as well" Well what a quickie dink.
Laughing Glen held out his hand and said, "Well I will be traveling with ya for a while now." Nodding I grabbed his hand and said, "I'll be in your care." God, his hands are big. With a bright smile, I leaned back and took a nap once more this time with Glen seated next to me. This will be a long ride.
