A few days later
The house was starting to come together and we were officially settled into place, surprisingly no one figured out who I was and stopped by to see who the new neighbor was. I walked into my bathroom and got cleaned up and changed before Amelia woke up and demanded my attention. Brushing my hair back I noticed the scar above my left eye and I sighed closing my eyes as flashbacks entered my mind and I unwantedly tried to clear my brain "You are ok Alisha! You are safe!" I repeated this to myself as I turned off the lights in the bathroom and head over to get Amelia up and ready and head downstairs for breakfast.
Today was the big day. The day that I went to my families yearly gathering and make my presents known to the people who have not seen me in ages. No one besides Cassidy knows what happen, I left my phone the night I left so that it would not be easy to find me and I just vanished. I didn't want to be known, I did not want to be found. I traveled for many months until I finally settle somewhere.
After making Amelia and myself some breakfast, her favorite eggs, toast and bananas. I settle into a seat and went through my emails and text. There was something from Cassidy
Cassidy- Todays the big day.
Me- I know, I barely slept a wink. Can't I put it off.
Cassidy- Absolutely not, Everyone's going to find out your home. You should want it to be on your own terms.
Me- I hate it when your right.
Cassidy- And I love when you tell me i'm right.
Cassidy- Besides i'll be there to hold your hand incase you need me
Me- As long as you don't let go, I wont run.
Cassidy- LMAO
I ended the conversation there as I scrolled through the rest of my messages, responding here and there to things and finishing up my work things before getting the kitchen and breakfast cleaned up. I knew what time the family gathering started, mostly because Cassidy has been talking about it for the pass 5 months.

Several hours later
Cassidy pulls up to my families estate, the fluttery feeling in my stomach made me want to throw up. I didn't know if I should blame the baby or the unnerving feeling of facing these people after so many years of being gone.
Cassidy grabbed my hand and squeezed for support before we got out, many of the people who stood out front stopped and stared as we approached the side of the house. I held Amelia close to me as we walked around the back of the house, my baby girl was so excited about the day asking as many questions as her little brain can think of.
As we rounded the corner we hear music, laughter and talking. To no surprise by anyone my family always extended their family events to those who lived in the town. most times using the parties to endorse or work being the social gems of the town, everyone who was anyone knew who my family was and it was to no surprise that everyone showed up and showed out. I smoothed my long tie dye maxi dress over my belly trying to settle my stomach as I approached a group that I hadn't seen in so long.
Cassidy grabbed Amelia's hand from me and I cleared my throat and tap on the shoulder of a very tall and brown haired man who's hair had started to grey. He turned around with a grin on his face as if to great another guest and came face to face with a child he hadn't seen in so long, to say my father has aged would be a statement that would not match, I could see that the man who had raised me looked tired, his eyes showed sadness even though he held such a big smile. His face went from smiling to shock as tears filled his eyes and he pulled me into an embrace that made me burst into tears, "Oh Papa." To say I was a daddy's girl was an understatement, my father George was my world before I left and to be in his arms again and have him holding me as tight as he was made me realize how much I missed this.
