My aunt Calissa convinced me to go to this stupid party and to wear something cute. So here I set in my room getting ready, I had straightened my hair and actually applied makeup to my face. My dress was a simple maxi dress that went down to my knees, it was Sky blue and the halter cut of the top made my breast look fuller and for once I actually felt very feminine since before I gained all the weight. I slipped my feet into a pair of strappy sandals and looked at myself in the mirror. This outfit would defiantly be Cassidy approved.
I stepped into the kitchen and grabbed my purse and heard aunt Calissa standing by the backdoor, I waved at her knowing that she was probably on an important call. I got a text from Cassidy saying that she was outside. it was already 7pm and the party started ages ago, but because Cassidy asked me I was going to go with her. She had also informed me that Jake would be making an appearance tonight with a couple of his old friends. I kissed Amelia on the top of her head "I love you bean."
I walked out of the house waving bye to my aunt and closing the door behind me. Walking fast to Cassidy's car and getting it "Hey." She grinned and hugged me with one arm "You look beautiful babes, oh and you straightened your hair." I smiled and crossed my feet "I try."
"f**k trying, your working it." I laughed at her words as she drove down the road.
When we finally made it to the party there was people everywhere and I started to feel self conscious and thought me being here tonight was a bad idea. Which I haven't felt that way in a long ass time, we walked into the party and some people looked our way and started whispering.
Cassidy "Ignore them."
I nodded and we walked over to a group of people and Cassidy hugged a few of them, I realized that some of them looked familiar. It was because it was some of Jakes friends "Hey guys, ya'll remember my best friend Alisha?" They turned to me and I smiled "Hello."
"Hey." I pushed my hair behind my ears as they continued to stare at me and blushed "Wait as in-" He was cut off by a arm wrapping around my shoulder and "Max don't ask questions." I practically had to strain my head up to look up into the eyes of Jake, who didn't miss a beat and kissed the top of my head. Cassidy raised her eyebrow and I looked over at her and shrugged.
"I didn't know that you two were together." A voice from behind one of the guys said, I looked over to see Nichole and pushed her hair back. She was wearing a cocktail dress that was white and very fluffy, Jake's arm dropped from my shoulder and I responded before he could "No, but then again it's not your business." I stepped around Jake and Cassidy and walked away from the group of people.
Many people stopped me and said hello and I responded to most of them before heading outside in the back to get some air, My phone dinged and I took it out of my purse and looked at it.
L- Your absolutely stunning tonight
Me- Where are you?
L- It doesn't matter, your beautiful.
L- Don't let them get to you
L- I like your hair curly better
After that last message I put my phone in my pocket smiling and pushing my hair back again before looking at the sun that was setting. I knew I would have to return to the party, but I didn't know if I was ready. Someone standing behind me cleared their throat, and I turned to see Sam standing with his hands in his pockets.
I didn't say anything, I just looked at him. Waiting for him to say something, and he just stared at me "Will you stop staring at me Samuel." He sighed and looked away pulling a Cigarette pack out of his pocket and pulling one out "You look beautiful." I glanced over at him and then down at my feet, I wonder if he really meant it. "Th-thank you."
He nodded and took a hit from his cigarette "I'm sorry...Ali." I looked at him and a pang of guilt flooded me, mostly it was just for how mean I have been to him lately. "You don't have to apologize to me."
He took another hit "I just..I want you to stop hating me."
I rubbed my arms as it was starting to get a little cold outside, "I don't hate you." I felt him wrap his arm around me and he rubbed my arm, the warmth of his body making me relax a little. "It's cold out." He flicked his cig and wrapped the other arm around me "I just.." I laid my head against his chest and just accepted the warmth that came from his body, my own starting to heat up in all the place that I needed it to be.
"Ali, you seem so very cold, and so very hurt. What happen?" A single tear rolled down my cheek, was it so wrong to be held like this by my brothers best friend, to accept the warmth that came with it. I looked up at him and saw him staring down at me.
"Ali..."
"Why do you keep saying my name." He laughed "Give me a break, it's been years since I actually got to say it." I rolled my eyes and laid my head back on his chest "Whatever."
He sighed "Can't you be nice?"
"I was being nice." He laughed "Is that what you call it?"
I pinched him and he laid his chin on the top of my head, everything around us seemed to fade away. That was until I heard someone's voice "Oh there you are babe?" He made the first move pulling away from me fast, I looked over at him and then at the person "Um Bridget you remember Jackson's sister Ali?"
She smiled walking over and wrapping her arms around him and placing a hand on his chest, sort of like she was claiming what was hers. "Oh yes. The run away, Hello Ali."
I c****d my head to the side and smiled "It's Alisha." She smiled "Well Sam said-" I cut her off "Yeah but that's Sam. My names Alisha." And with that I looked at him "It was nice seeing you, thank you for the hug."
"Ali." I didn't give him the opportunity to say anything else as I turned and headed for the door back inside to find Cassidy.
