Section 1, Building 13, Floor 3, Classroom 0804.
Even after Yin Kuang sat down on a desk with his name burned into it by flames, his mind was still a complete mess. He didn't even know how he had gotten from that huge "playground" to this classroom.
"Terrifying High School...Terrifying High School..."
There seemed to be some vague and chaotic thoughts in my mind, all related to this "terrifying high school" I was in. The strands of consciousness were tangled together, impossible to sort out, while the four flame-scorched characters of "terrifying high school" kept flying around in my empty mind.
"Hello!"
Yin Kuang was jolted back to his senses by the sudden slap and shout, and came to his senses. "It's you?"
The person who woke Yin Kuang up was indeed the handsome young man who had been the first to speak to Yin Kuang on the "playground".
"What a coincidence! I never expected we'd be in the same class. Let's get to know each other. My surname is Li, Li Shuangmu. Shuang means frost and snow, and Mu means braving wind and rain."
"Hello." Yin Kuang shook hands with him. "My name is Yin Kuang, Kuang as in 'heart is open and joyful'." After the introductions, Yin Kuang asked curiously, "You don't seem nervous or scared at all?"
Yin Kuang glanced around the classroom and saw that everyone was anxious, some even pale and sobbing. Of course, there were a few with good mental fortitude, but someone as cheerful and sunny as Li Shuangmu was truly an exception.
"Why be nervous or afraid?" Li Shuangmu asked with a smile.
"This..." Yin Kuang couldn't answer, "Shouldn't we be afraid? Suddenly found ourselves in this strange place?"
Li Shuangmu gave a wry smile and shook his head, saying, "But what's the use of fear or tension? We're already here, aren't we? What do you think?" He seemed to recall some past events and said softly, "Maintaining a clear and calm mind at all times is a course I've always had to train for."
Despite her seemingly sunny and cheerful demeanor, Li Shuangmu appeared to have a hidden past. The maturity and wisdom she displayed at this moment, along with a hint of melancholy, prompted Yin Kuang to sigh, "She's someone with a story..."
Yin Kuang nodded and said, "You're right. Since we're here, let's make the best of it."
During the conversation, and influenced by Li Shuangmu, Yin Kuang's unease gradually dissipated.
Gradually, several other people joined their conversation, using various languages to distract themselves and dispel their negative emotions.
“My surname is Wang, Wang Ning. Sigh, I was originally going to university to register in high spirits, but I didn’t expect to fall down suddenly when I went downstairs... Then, everything went black and I ended up here…” The person in front of Yin Kuang turned around and said.
Just like his name suggests, Wang Ning had delicate features and wore thin-rimmed glasses. But the fear in his eyes couldn't be hidden even by the lenses.
"Who says otherwise? This is truly the worst luck imaginable. Do you know how hard it is for me to get into a second-tier university? And now, I've ended up in this godforsaken place... Sigh, I wonder how my parents will react when they find out I'm missing. They'll be worried sick. By the way, my name is Wei Min, the 'Min' in 'people'."
Wei Ming has a strong and tall build, a buzz cut, a tough face, and a faint scar on his left cheek, suggesting he was once a ruthless man.
"You guys think... isn't this... kidnapping?"
A timid, soft voice broke the silence. Everyone looked over, their eyes lighting up. The speaker was a petite girl with large eyes, an oval face, fair skin, bright eyes and white teeth—pure and captivating. Especially now, her delicate, timid appearance was truly endearing, making one want to hold her in their arms and offer sweet words of comfort.
The girl became increasingly frightened by the stares of the crowd, shrinking back slightly like a startled rabbit.
Li Shuangmu wasn't particularly affected by her pure charm, only slightly amazed. He analyzed, "It shouldn't be a kidnapping. From the very beginning, everything that happened has far exceeded our imagination and understanding. For example, suddenly arriving here, the strange words on the notice, and the chaotic consciousness that appeared in our minds—everything seems like a supernatural story. Heh, if kidnappers had such powerful methods, they wouldn't need to rely on kidnapping to make money."
Yin Kuang agreed wholeheartedly, "Besides, I'm just a poor wretch. If it were really a kidnapping, they would never kidnap me; only an i***t would do that."
Li Shuangmu and Yin Kuang's words reassured the timid girl, "But... what exactly happened?"
Just as Yin Kuang was about to say, "We don't know either," a roar suddenly rang out in the empty classroom. Then came the sound of desks and chairs colliding.
"Damn it! Say that again if you dare!!"
A shirtless young man, looking menacing, was holding a stool and pointing it at a pale-faced but good-looking boy on the ground, yelling at him. It seemed that if the boy on the ground didn't give him an explanation, he was really going to smash the stool down on his head.
The pale-faced, cold-eyed boy wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and spat out a mouthful of phlegm. "Fine, I'll say it. You, Du Fang, are nothing but trash! No money, no power, hmph, Norman is with you, and you can't give him anything. You can't even support yourself, yet you expect Norman to suffer with you. Sooner or later, she'll be dragged into being a milkmaid by some fat, nouveau riche, living a miserable life. But I'm different..."
"Zhang Yaozong, I...I'll kill you! Ah!!" The tall boy, Du Fang, his expression fierce, slammed the stool he had raised high down. If it landed squarely, it would truly be fatal. So, the pale-faced boy shrank back in fear.
However, the stool was not actually smashed.
A white figure suddenly darted out from the side, grabbed Du Fang around the waist, and shoved him aside, saving the life of the pale-faced boy, Zhang Yaozong.
The white figure was none other than Li Shuangmu.
"What are you doing? Get out of my way! Mind your own business, or I'll kill you!" The man was clearly driven mad by rage, biting anyone in sight like a mad dog.
Li Shuangmu stood between the two, her face frosty. "I don't want to meddle in your business. But we're all in the same class now. I don't want to cause any more trouble before things become clear. This isn't just a personal feud between the two of you; it concerns the thirty students in our class."
That's right, in this class, in this empty classroom, there are thirty boys and girls, all around twenty years old.
When Li Shuangmu said this, everyone agreed wholeheartedly.
"That's right! Even if there's some deep-seated grudge, now is not the time to settle it."
"Well... who knows what other supernatural events might happen later? Don't drag us into this."
"Dude, is it because of a woman? All this talk of fighting, is it really necessary?"
As everyone chimed in with their opinions, Du Fang, who had been furious, calmed down a bit, angrily slammed down the chair in his hand, and returned to his seat.
Yin Kuang went over to help, righting the overturned tables and chairs on the ground. But Zhang Yaozong, pale-faced, snatched the table away, saying ungratefully, "I don't need your pretense. I can clean it up myself."
Yin Kuang shrugged, gave a self-deprecating laugh, and sat back down at his desk.
Just then, the classroom door, which had been kept closed, was suddenly opened—no, or rather, kicked open! It was kicked open very roughly and violently, making a loud "bang" that made everyone in the classroom's eardrums vibrate.
