Halton’s POV
When Edward charged into my office, I knew something was wrong. Joan had insisted that after she left the company, anyone who directly worked with me would be a man. She wasn't about to let what happened to Andrea happen to her. Edward was always professional, calm, and dependable. He has always knocked and waited for permission before entering my office. One look at his face, and I knew that whatever had upset him was going to be bad.
“Your ex-wife and her father are in the conference room, Mr. Thompson,” Edward exclaimed.
“Why are they here? Who let them in? They don’t belong here. We have a meeting scheduled to start in 15 minutes. They have no business here, just call security and have them escorted out,” I snapped out. Did I have to think of everything?
