Iris There was warmth, I think. Warmth, but better, because it felt like home. And it had been so long since I’d been home. It wrapped around me, held me close. And for a while, I floated. Wakefulness eased in eventually, unhurried. Morning vaguely lit my room, separating shapes from shadow. I blinked, slowly recognizing the outlines of my room. But– the study– I was supposed to come up with an escape plan…. Had I walked here on my own? I didn’t remember. I had to have fallen asleep at some point, and then…? Frustration swelled taut in my chest. There likely wouldn’t be many opportunities such as last night that I have access to that study. Especially with how the King and I have been getting along– which was to say, I did not care to get along with that man at all. I sat up deject
