Chapter 2

1142 Words
Isseth; Home world to the Elves, Faerie, Dwarves and Pixie. 40% water, temperate to arid climate, because it is the most populated, Isseth is the "hub" of the universe. Thyra; Thyra is devoted to industry, members of all races live and work here. There are four continents located on Thyra, with 60% water. Pyrra; Pyrra is a medium sized planet with two continents, a race of humans lives here, they are just now entering an industrial period, however much of Pyrra is devoted to agriculture, but there are many industries located here as well, many subcontract with companies located on Thyra, Tinker Town is the capitol, if you could call it that, half the town looks like it was put up in an afternoon. Garesh III; Primarily a mining planet, everything in the way of metallic ores can be found here, Garesh III is under Dwarvian jurisdiction 20% water, six continents. Proxima; Proxima is another medium sized planet, three continents, and 70% water. Most of Garesh III is very mountainous with one continent practically all jungle. Proxima is also where almost 90% of the remaining Ogre population was deported to in a move that no government on Isseth will ever talk about. Garian II; Garian II is a most unusual planet, very temperate, 60% water five continents, quite undeveloped, although many large farming operations are located here. Garian II is also home to several vacation resorts catering to all needs. Garian II is home to the Goks (see outer world races) Pyrrians; The Pyrrians are a race of humans who are just entering a state of advanced industrialization, they are a very determined race, very headstrong and opinionated, they are never-the-less demanding to take their place in the galaxy. With the exception of the Faerie, Pixies and Ogres, they maintain excellent relations with the other races, They are especially fond of the Dwarves, who operate several mining stations on the planet. While the Elves, Dwarves, and Faerie travel about in air cars and other more advanced air travel, the Pyrrians are stuck with arcane industrial devices, and airships. Prime directive 321 issued by the Galactic Union prevents trading of advanced technology or weapons. Each planet rises or falls on their own merits. It is also forbidden for lesser races to travel, say to, Bal Sara or Gyor's Forge to study in the universities. Through treaties, and mutual agreements, these regulations have remained if force for quite a number of cycles now, they seem to work. Pyrra is governed by a Prime Minister, Manvil Gilbey. There are also two "Houses" the upper and lower, who write and decide legislation. The Goks are a mystery, the subject of many scholarly symposiums, as well as university field studies on Garesh III. Goks are like Ogres, same build, height, but without the tusks and greenish skin. Goks have hair, generally dark, as well as facial hair. Unlike Ogres, Goks are even tempered, quite friendly, although are quick to violence if threatened or pushed too far. One professor observed, "Goks are Ogres with an Elvin intellect." Goks are also underachievers, they can't exactly be called lazy, but when required, they have proven to be very industrious and quite ingenious in solving problems. Goks were "discovered" by a scientific expedition sponsored by the University in Bal Sara, about 100 cycles after the last Ogre war a few cycles after the Elves first landed on Garesh III. Goks speak their own language, nowhere similar to what the Ogres speak. Who they really are, and how they came to be on Garesh III has been the subject of many a scholarly paper. The Goks themselves are of no help, they have no written or verbal history no traditions to speak of. The Goks themselves are pretty ambivalent to the whole thing, they live pretty much for the day, and don't worry too much about what tomorrow might bring. When shown pictures of Ogres, and told of them, the standard reaction is "Meh!" If given specific tasks and the desired outcome, Goks will get the job done, under budget and "on time," but if you seek a professional "Walloper" or serious "muscle" try and hire an Ogre down on his luck. Galactic Union; Located on Thyra, it is the organization that oversees the family of planets. With the exception of the Ogres, Pixie, and Goks, all races have representatives and council members here. Every cycle, the leaders from Isseth, meet here for a conference to go over the Galactic budget, and set the rules and regulations. Pyrra also sends a delegation (via Elvin or Dwarvian transport) but since Pyrra has no space flight capabilities they mainly oversee trade problems and contracts between Pyrra and the other planets. Notes on Isseth; Isseth is made up of Karenta, home to both the High and Dark Elves, the Capital is Bal Sara, with Star City being the main spaceport and development center of most spacecraft. Krynn is another large city to the north, serviced by a major highway as well a a railroad. Mythal is home to the Faerie, as well as the Pixies. Aeravas is it's capital, with Fair Mora, and Farshal being two smaller cities to the south of Aeravas. These cities are also connected to a major roadway as well as the railroad, To the south, the rugged Arau Mountains separate Mythal from the Dwarvian kingdom of Dros Del Noch. Gyor's Forge, the capital, sits in the middle. To the south, sit's the only other seaport on Isseth, Barkesh. To the west nestled in the foothills of the Peakstar Mountains is the city of Solostarran, a major petroleum producing area, again, these cities are connected to the rest of the "world" via railroad, and major highway. Finally to the east of Dros Del Noch and Mythal is the Cantard. Once the "home" of the Ogres, after they came down from the Sky Blood Mountains to the far east. The only "city" in the Cantard is Mooncall, a haven for every misfit on the planet. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than in the Cantard. One does not simply stroll into Mooncall, there is evil there that does not sleep. It is populated with an assortment of "tame" Ogres, adventurers, misfits, and a collection of people known as "Outdwellers." there is an unwritten truce between the people of the Cantard and the rest of Isseth, "Stay on your side of the border, and we won't bother you," those that don't get the message quickly end up dead. The Cantard is made up of vast stretches of Savanna, the Razinta Basin, and the Sarthan Desert. Be warned, however, there are vast stretches where the unsuspecting simply "disappear," travel at your own risk, and stay away from the "Yamma Yamma" man, ask locally for more information on this fellow.
