CHAPTER 22 “ARE YOU FEELING better now?” Maureen sprayed some disinfectant onto the yellow Formica tablecloth in front of her and gave it a wipe. “Yes I’m fine. I think I must have eaten something dodgy on Sunday.” Lyn stood with bated breath to hear whether Peter Davies had made an appearance the day before. However, Maureen just carried on wiping the tables clean and humming to herself. Lyn heaved a sigh of relief and set to work, moving to and fro between the kitchen and the café, filling the refrigerated shelving under the counter with sandwiches and cakes ready for the morning rush.
