SHE HAD JUST finished the month-end accounts when the phone call came.
“Hi Lyn!”
“Hey Sara! Are you okay? Everything alright at the café?” She immediately started to worry.
“The café’s doing great; in fact much better than last season so far.”
“That’s good news. How’s the new girl shaping up?”
“Fine. Reggie’s stayed on after all, and the three of us seem to make a good team. But the café’s not why I phoned.”
“Oh?”
“I thought I’d tell you the news.”
“What’s that then?”
“Peter came in for some lunch the other day with a lady. It appears they’re going to get married. He’s really changed; much more laid back now. He was even wearing shorts and sandals!” She chuckled as she spoke.
