“WELL, I CAN’T say when I enjoyed a meal more. Lovely food and delightful company. I’m so glad I was invited today.” Lyn placed a pile of dirty plates next to the sink, and picked up a tea towel. “I’m definitely going to dry up for you. You’ve worked so hard today Daphne.”
“That’s so kind of you. We’ll let the men talk then, while we wash up and have a natter.” Daphne filled the large enamel sink with soap suds.
Lyn felt her heart suddenly start to race and the beginning of another hot flush. She fanned her face with her hand and rolled her eyes at Daphne.
“It’s terrible this menopause malarkey isn’t it?” She sighed as she looked at the older woman.
“I’m still getting the odd flush fifteen years’ later.”
“Good God!”
