THE afternoon papers carried the story of Gretchen Van Dorn’s murder, replete with a lot of details concerning Faith Martin’s arrest and arraignment. She was being held without bail.
There was one new development. Police laboratory technicians had definitely established the fact that the strangler had worn gloves. None of the several pairs of gloves belonging to Faith showed traces of having been used for the purpose, but it was held that she had probably gotten rid of the ones she had worn.
