Krissi took a deep breath and shifted, moving off her sore ribs. A hand on her back dragged her awake. Well, not literally, but it was unfamiliar enough it made her wonder what it was and that pulled her to the surface of consciousness. She opened her eyes and saw there was only a little light in the room. She couldn’t remember where she was. Slowly, the feel of skin beneath her cheek registered and she remembered the way she’d relaxed beneath his touch the night before. She shifted and found her hand wrapped around his arm. Squeezing a little, she rubbed her nose in the sparse hair on his chest. “How you feeling this morning?” Ruger’s voice was deep and rough, as if he hadn’t spoken in hours but held no slur of sleep.
