{10 YEARS LATER}

He lowered himself to his son and ruffled his hair with his lean fingers.

"What's up boy? Ready to take the world by storm today?" Mint asked, a broad and knowing smile plastered on his face.

Elliot rolled his eyes and tried to get his hair back in place.

"Dad! It took me thirty minutes to try to get this done!" When he looked up at his father's smiling face, Elliot's scowl made way for a brief chuckle.

"And yes, I'm ready to take the world by storm. I'm also very excited. I get to see the emergency ward too, right?"

Mint's eyes narrowed at his son's bubbly ones. Elliot had grown a lot taller over the years. So tall that despite Mint's six feet and five inches height, Elliot's head grazed his belly button when he stood. That was tall for a fourteen year old.
