Work was quick that day, lots of regular checks and occasional overreacting first time mum who thinks doctor google knows all, by the end of the day Elaine has me laughing and smiling like always.

“So sweetie what do you have planned for the weekend? You know tomorrow is Friday your favourite day of the week.”

“ ha yes Elaine I know tomorrow is Friday, mum and dad are having a BBQ Saturday night and Matt is making his famous ribs. What about you and doctor Witham?”

“ we will be at you father BBQ sweetie, it seem he has invited the whole town”

Elaine and doctor Witham had gone home for the night as it was my turn to finish late and lock up, just as I am about to turn the lights off and walk out the door I hear the bell go off I yelled out ,

“How can I help you tonight?”

I came around the corner and could have died from a heart attack right then and there, it was Allan once again.

“What do you want are you hurt?”

I said quickly.

“ hey I’m yeah I’m mine okay just need a few stitches is all”

“Oh right what did you do”

“I may have cut my self while cutting stuff up for dinner”

“ oh okay well come on down to the examining room you where in yesterday and we will check it out”

I rushed down the hall way to my office turned on the light and for some reason checked my makeup in the mirror quickly.

“Right let’s see what we have under here hey”

I said trying not to show the nerves running though my body. He holds is hand up that he had wrapped in a tea towel.

“Okay so you definitely need stitches at least kiss”

“ I mean six Allan, you will need six stitches is what I meant.”

“Are you sure That’s what you meant Maddie or is something else on your mind?”

We sat in Silence well I did my job

“Right all finished, Mr Herman you can go now but please keep in coved and clean.”

“No problem Mrs Bell, it quite dark out side do you want me to walk you to your car?”

“Thank you but I will be fine besides I need to clean the room and lock up before I go”

“I can help so you can get out of here quicker”

“Thanks but that’s okay I am right”

Allan left so I started to clean up once I finish cleaning and re-sterilising I turned the lights off, locked the door and walked to my car. Allan was right is was dark out side seemed more so then normal. “ oh you might need to fix your hair before you get home sweetie”

“Oh right yes well if you didn’t pull on it I wouldn’t have too”

“I know how much you enjoy that so yeah just fix ya hair”

He kissed me on the cheek and got out my car and walk off into the darkness of night.

I drove home that night and all I could think of was what happened in the back of my car and how I was going to keep it together in front of Matt
