The next day, Daniel went to meet Isabella and Alexander. They sat in a dimly lit café outside of town, their heads hanging low as they spoke seriously.
Daniel laid a thick file on the table. "These are the documents Tracy sent to you-the ones showing Victor's laundering through Noble Best. We can use them, but we've got a problem.
Alexander leaned forward. "What kind of problem?"
Daniel let out a sigh. "If we take these files public, they'll see Noble Best's name all over them. That ties Isabella directly to Victor. Even if we prove she didn't know about it, the public will tear her apart before the truth comes out."
Alexander's jaw flexed. "So what are we supposed to do? Sit and wait while Victor destroys her reputation?
“No,” he said quietly, “we make a sacrifice.”
