Pat returned to his desk and read the husband’s account of what he’d found when he’d arrived home from work and what he’d done immediately after. It was obvious Sam Taylor had panicked and missed the signs indicating his daughter had been abducted, instead of wandering off into the surrounding woodland, until the crime scene investigators had walked him through the house. Pat shook his head. They’d wasted valuable time searching for Ella in the area around the house until Dr Taylor had realised the car seat was missing from his wife’s car, along with some of his daughter’s belongings.
