Robbie took the Hanhdorf turnoff from the freeway and slowed to turn left onto Mt Barker Road at the roundabout. There was a police vehicle, a Toyota Hilux with a lock-up unit mounted behind the cabin, parked in among the vehicles in the car park of the Garden Supplies depot on the left, just past the roundabout. Robbie saw it and dismissed it. He was not exceeding the speed limit and had no intention of doing so. He continued towards the roundabout at the intersection of Mt Barker and Onkaparinga Valley Roads, where he took the exit in the direction of Balhannah. He tried calling Jordan again.
