Robbie King was not happy. No-one had explained to him what was happening after he’d been arrested and bundled into the cage on the back of the police Toyota that had followed him home from Verdun.
He’d arrived at the farm around the time Jack was supposed to call the cops and tell them where to find the girl, but the cops had been waiting for him. How had that happened? Had Jack double crossed him? He didn’t know. He didn’t know where Jordan or Tessa were either, or what had happened to the kids.
Robbie waited and listened. He couldn’t see what they were doing but supposed they were searching the place looking for weapons and anything else they could find to use as evidence against him. He started to sweat. It was getting hot inside the box and his wrists hurt.
