Outside the mall, countless people watched the raging fire anxiously. Suddenly, a loud crash drew gasps from the crowd as Ethan crashed through the third-floor window and fell! Under the gaze of the crowd, Ethan twisted his body in mid-air, landing on his back with a heavy thud! The fire chief shouted, "Jesus! Rescue them! Go! Go! Go!" Firefighters rushed over, trying to lift Sophia off Ethan, but his arms clung to her like steel clamps, holding her tightly. It took several strong firefighters all their strength to pry Ethan's arms open. As soon as Sophia was freed, she removed her gas mask and saw Ethan's pale face and closed eyes. She burst into tears, "Ethan! Wake up! Are you alright?" July ran over, crying on Ethan's chest, "Daddy, wake up! I'll be good from now on. I won't eat ice cream anymore, just wake up, Daddy!" Sophia held July close, pounding Ethan's chest weakly, "You jerk! You promised to take care of us for a lifetime. How can you break your word? You've been gone from my life for five years, do you want to disappear forever?" Medical personnel arrived and said, "I'll get the medical equipment from the car. Start with CPR!" Sophia realized, "Right, CPR!" Ignoring the dirt on Ethan's face, she pressed her lips to his and breathed air into him repeatedly. After several breaths, Ethan coughed violently and opened his eyes slowly. Sophia was overjoyed, "You... Are you alright?" A faint smile appeared on Ethan's pale face. "As long as you're alright, I'm alright." Sophia hugged him tightly, sobbing uncontrollably, "You jerk! You scared me to death!" Everyone present was deeply moved. The bond between this couple, who had faced life and death together, was truly admirable. Just then, Ethan heard a middle-aged woman crying, "My kid! My kid is still in there!" A middle-aged man beside her looked full of regret, "Oh s**t! I left Jim upstairs!" The woman, her face streaked with tears, was about to rush back inside when another loud explosion shook the ground! Firefighters stopped the hysterical mother, "Ma'am, it's too dangerous inside! You can't go in! Please calm down. We'll do everything we can!" The mother fell to her knees, devastated, "Please, save my son! He's only four years old!" The firefighters looked troubled. From their professional perspective, the fire was at its most unstable and entering now could result in their own deaths without saving anyone. At that moment, Ethan struggled to stand, looking at the fire chief with determination. "Give me a set of rescue gear. I'll go!" Sophia exclaimed, "Ethan, your back!" Everyone then noticed Ethan's back was covered in blood. The glass shards from his crash through the window had embedded deeply into his flesh. The firefighters refused Ethan's request. "No! We can't let a civilian take such a risk, especially since you're so badly injured. You need to go to the hospital!" Ethan shook his head, "There's no time left! I've been inside once and know the layout. No one else is better suited for this!" Sophia blocked his way, "No! I won't let you go!" Sophia was just an ordinary woman. She didn't need a hero; she just needed her man to be safe and with her. Ethan said firmly, "Sophia! I have to go!" Ethan's gaze became incredibly determined. This was the first time he had ever refused Sophia's request, and his powerful voice commanded respect. As a master, it was his duty to guide others and save those in need. How could he stand by in such a situation? The fire chief remained resolute. "No! We can't let any civilians take such a risk!" Ethan handed his phone to the fire chief. "There's no time to explain. Just take the call." The fire chief took the phone instinctively and heard a resigned order, "Let him go in! And remember, ensure his safety at all costs!" The fire chief's face changed as he recognized the voice of his superior. With a solemn expression, the fire chief said, "Yes, sir. I'll carry out your orders!" After hanging up, the fire chief looked at Ethan with a complex expression. "I'll send the most professional firefighters with you..." Ethan interrupted, "No need! Stop wasting time! Give me the protective gear!" At that moment, time was life! Every second's delay could mean another life lost! The fire chief no longer hesitated. He waved his hand, "Get him a set of protective gear, hurry up!" After putting on the gear, Ethan took a deep breath and dashed into the flames. As they watched his figure disappear, everyone present was filled with emotion and respect. Seeing the admiration in the eyes of the crowd, Sophia felt both worry and pride. 'Those who once mocked my husband, do you see now? He is not a failure, but a superhero whom everyone admires!' Rushing into the fire, Ethan arrived at the area where the kid was likely to be, according to the parents' directions. The fire was spreading rapidly, but the broken windows had allowed some of the smoke to clear, making it slightly easier to see. Ethan walked carefully, his eyes searching all around. Finally, under a counter, he heard faint sobbing! Lifting the counter, Ethan saw a little boy with a soot-covered face, crouching in the corner and crying. Ethan scooped the boy up and comforted him, "Don't cry, kid. I'm here to save you!" Seeing someone come to his rescue, the boy's pent-up emotions burst forth, and he cried loudly on Ethan's shoulder. This sudden disaster was overwhelming for a four-year-old! "Boom!" Another loud collapse sounded, and Ethan's expression changed. The path he had come from was now on fire, making it impossible to return that way. In this critical situation, Ethan's exceptional mental strength came into play. He tore down the curtains that had not yet fully burned and tied them around himself. The glass on the fifth floor shattered from the flames! In this emergency, everyone held their breath, eyes fixed on the fifth floor, knowing that Ethan and the boy were up there! Would Ethan bring the boy back heroically or perish in the flames? Everyone was praying silently! Sophia clasped her hands tightly, her face pale. 'Ethan, you must come back alive! You promised me, you can't break your promise!' "Boom!" A huge explosion shattered all the glass on the fifth floor. Countless flames, like caged beasts, burst out from the windows. Despair filled everyone's minds, and Jim's mother fainted on the spot! Just then, a figure leaped from the fifth floor, like an eagle soaring through the sky! The crowd was shocked. They had barely survived a jump from the third floor. From the fifth floor, wouldn't they be doomed? Amidst their fear and despair, someone with sharp eyes shouted, "Look!" Everyone looked up. Ethan had tied a rope made from curtains. Ethan slid down the rope to the second floor. The tattered curtain couldn't hold the weight and broke. But Ethan stayed calm. Using his strong and agile skills, he landed lightly on his feet, then rolled with the momentum, finally landing safely! Ethan released the boy, who had stopped crying and looked at him with admiration. "Sir, are you Superman?" Jim's father rushed over, hugging his son. "Jim! My babe!" Filled with gratitude, he said to Ethan, "Sir, thank you! Thank you for saving my son! You saved my whole family!" Ethan helped him up quickly. At the same time, the fire chief's voice sounded, "Attention everyone! Salute the hero!" "Swish!" Whether firefighters or police officers, they stood straight, their expressions solemn, and bowed in respect to Ethan. "Clap! Clap!" Someone started clapping, and soon, the whole crowd joined in! This world never lacked heroes. Whenever disaster stroke, heroes always bring hope to everyone. Ethan removed his mask, about to speak, but intense pain struck him, and he passed out! Sophia cried out in panic, "Ethan!"
