Chapter 68

793 Words
Earlier, realizing something was wrong, Ethan contacted Samson immediately. Upon hearing the situation, Samson rushed to Rising Group as quickly as possible. Seeing Samson's stern face, Alf was so frightened that he almost collapsed on the spot. Samson ignored Alf and walked over to Ethan hurriedly, asking respectfully, "Mr. Lee, are you alright?" Ethan replied calmly, "I'm fine." Seeing Samson arrive suddenly, Dilanne sneered, "So this is the accomplice who helped fabricate the fake contract for Director Harris? Who let you in here? What qualifications do you have to enter Rising Group and yell at my boyfriend?" Feeling triumphant, Dilanne added, "We haven't even come after you yet, and you've walked right into our hands. You have some nerve!" In Dilanne's eyes, if Samson was treating Ethan so politely, he couldn't be someone important. Intent on sending Sophia to jail, Dilanne said to Alf, "Darling, I think this guy must be Sophia's accomplice. Why don't we have them all arrested right now?" Alf screamed, "Arrest them? Dilanne, are you crazy? If you want to die, don't take me." Alf then approached Samson in fear, trembling, "Mr. Cruz, why are you here?" Samson felt an intense urge to slap Alf. How could he be so stupid to offend Ethan? Ethan was revered by his father as a god! Although Ethan seemed to have no power or influence, his disciples were elites in politics, business, the arts, and sciences. A word from Ethan could make the Cruz family incredibly wealthy, or destroy them completely. Samson said sternly, "Alf! If I hadn't come, were you planning to issue a lawyer's letter to Ms. Harris on behalf of the Cruz Group?" Feeling Samson's burning anger, Alf swallowed hard, cold sweat pouring from his forehead, and stammered, "So... so that contract was signed by you, Mr. Cruz?" Samson kicked Alf over and shouted, "Of course. Are you blind? Didn't you see my handwritten signature at the bottom?" Hearing this, Alf's face turned deathly pale. He had seen Samson's signature but couldn't believe that someone of Samson's status would personally handle such a minor contract. Ignoring his pain, Alf crawled to Samson's feet, begging, "Mr. Cruz, this... This is all a misunderstanding." Samson sneered, "A misunderstanding? So the 200,000-dollar bribe you took from Dilanne of Rising Group is also a misunderstanding?" Hearing this, Alf froze on the spot. Samson said coldly, "Alf, don't think I can't find out about your sneaky bribes. I'm officially notifying you that all your duties at the Cruz Group are terminated. We will investigate all your actions during your tenure. If we find any misuse of power, the commercial crime unit's officers are already on their way. You can explain everything to them." Samson's words hit Alf like a thunderbolt. His legs gave out, and he collapsed to the ground. He knew he was finished, completely ruined by Dilanne, that foolish woman! Seeing the once high-and-mighty Alf now slumped on the ground in despair, the eyes of all the onlookers jumped. 'Who is this man? He has reduced Alf, a high-ranking executive of the Cruz Group, to such a pitiful state.' For a moment, everyone looked at Samson with newfound respect and fear. The most shocked of all was Sophia. Her beautiful eyes widened in disbelief, and then she glanced at the calm Ethan beside her, a sweet smile spreading across her face. 'I knew it, my man would never let me down.' Samson turned to Sophia with an apologetic expression, "Ms. Harris, I am truly sorry for the inconvenience and the distress this has caused you. It was an oversight on my part. Let me clarify the situation now." Samson then looked at Jabbar and Adolph, frowning slightly, "May I ask, who can represent Rising Group here?" Jabbar glanced at Adolph, whose face had turned very unpleasant, and then a smile spread across his face. From what Samson had said earlier, it was clear that Dilanne had bribed Alf for 200,000 dollars. If this were proven true, Adolph would have no chance of becoming the General Manager. Thinking of this, Jabbar stepped forward and said, "I am Jabbar Cyrus, the Deputy General Manager of Rising Group." Samson stated directly, "I am Samson Cruz of the Cruz Group, and Mr. Ulmer is my father. I signed this cooperation contract, and we at the Cruz Group fully appreciate Ms. Harris' sincere intention to cooperate. We hope this contract will lead to a pleasant collaboration with Rising Group." After a brief pause, Samson continued, "As for Alf and the person who bribed him, they have crossed the line with the Cruz Group, and they will be punished severely. Furthermore, from now on, we will only recognize Ms. Harris as our point of contact for this cooperation."
