On the way back, Sophia kept glancing at Ethan. Ethan touched his nose and smiled. "What's wrong? Do I have something on my face?"
Sophia asked curiously, "Ethan, were those masters your disciples?"
Ethan nodded. "Well… in a way. There are many of them, but most were just brief encounters. I might have said a few words to them, and they insisted on calling me Master. What could I do?"
Sophia was about to say something more, but Ethan didn’t want to dwell on the topic and feared his true identity might overwhelm Sophia, who cherished a simple life. So he interrupted her. "I just got a job interview notice from the Eastern Academy, and I don't have much time. I need to hurry."
Hearing about the job, Sophia stopped her questioning. "Eastern Academy? Isn't that one of the top ten prestigious schools in Crownspire?"
Ethan nodded with a smile. "Yes, it is."
Sophia's initial surprise turned into excitement. "I've heard a lot about that academy. It's a very luxurious and elite school! The teachers there are paid very well."
Encouragingly, Sophia said, "Ethan, go for it. I believe you will get the job!"
Seeing Sophia's happy expression, Ethan patted her head affectionately. This was the happiness of ordinary life.
Ordinary people get excited over a high-paying job or finding cheap vegetables at the market. This is the life of an ordinary person.
Ethan nodded. "I will get the job!"

The next day, Ethan took a taxi to the gate of the Eastern Academy.
Getting out of the car, he looked at the grand and magnificent entrance and couldn't help but feel a bit emotional.
Many people outside described it as the most expensive academy in Crownspire, with every stone exuding the allure of wealth. Only three types of people could attend it: the wealthy, those from noble families, and top talents. The education here was said to be the fairest in the world; as long as you worked hard, you would succeed.
However, Ethan scoffed at these words.
'This world has never been fair. Some people start where others end.'
As Ethan was lost in thought, a sudden whooshing sound broke the air.
Ethan sidestepped quickly, and a basketball flew past him, slamming into a nearby trash can with such force that it left a deep dent in the metal.
If Ethan hadn't dodged quickly, the ball could have caused serious injury if it hit his head.
A cocky voice came from behind Ethan. "Hey, you! Yeah, you look like a homeless guy! Bring the ball back here!"
Ethan turned around and saw five young boys in Eastern Academy uniforms standing not far away.
The leader, Zared Wilkins, wore an expression of arrogance, looking at Ethan with disdain.
Zared shouted impatiently, "What are you looking at? Didn't you hear me?"
Zared came from a wealthy family and was well-known in school. He was used to being arrogant and looked down on ordinary people like Ethan. The cost of Zared's clothes alone was equivalent to an ordinary person's annual income.
Ethan's voice turned cold. "Did you throw the basketball?" If Zared had acted unintentionally and apologized sincerely, Ethan would have let it go. But Zared showed no remorse, indicating how arrogant he usually was.
Fortunately, Ethan had quick reflexes. If it had been an ordinary person, they might have suffered a concussion from the impact.
Zared smirked arrogantly. "Yeah, I threw it! So what?"
Ethan lowered his voice. "Do you realize you almost hit me just now?"
Zared showed no remorse. "But it didn't hit you. Even if it did, my pocket money alone could pay for you to stay in the hospital for the rest of your life!"
"Haha..." The boys around Zared laughed recklessly.
Ethan's eyes grew colder. 'These kids are about to enter society. What kind of family raises children to be so arrogant and unruly?'
Ethan took a deep breath and stared at Zared. "Apologize!"
Everyone froze. Zared, in disbelief, dug at his ear and mockingly asked, "What did you say? I didn't hear you."
Ethan repeated, devoid of any emotion, "Apologize to me."
Zared burst into laughter. "Brothers, did this poor fool just tell me to apologize?" His friends laughed as if they'd heard the funniest joke ever.
After they'd had their fill of laughter, Zared pointed his finger at Ethan, snarling, "I've never known what it means to apologize since the day I was born!"
With his hands on his hips, Zared added, "Now, you've pissed me off! But I'll give you a chance. Crawl over to the ball like my pet dog, take it back in your mouth, and maybe I may forgive you this time!"
Ethan remained calm, then suddenly asked, "Do you even remember that you're a student?"
Zared was taken aback. "What?"
Ethan's unexpected question confused Zared. "What does that have to do with anything?"
Ethan smiled. "You're a student, and I'm a teacher. Educating is my duty. Listening and learning is yours."
Then Ethan's smile faded, and he became serious. "Today, I'll give you an extra lesson on what it means to treat others with respect."
Without further warning, Ethan grabbed Zared's pointing hand and twisted it sharply.
"Crack!"
"Ahhh!"
A piercing scream echoed outside the gate.
