Chapter 15

Someone shouted, "They're coming! They're coming!" Hundreds of drones flew in formation, scattering colorful petals below. A golden carriage slowly appeared on the street. Seeing this, a guest exclaimed, "This... this is the Royal Crest! Could it be the Jubilee Golden Carriage? It's a legendary carriage! How did it come to Greenhill City?!" The guest looked closer, his breathing becoming rapid. "No doubt about it! It’s the Jubilee Carriage made with 500 sheets of pure gold leaves and wood from the apple tree where Newton discovered gravity." Silvia heard it clearly. After a brief moment of shock, she raised her chin high. "Sophia, did you see that? My husband even borrowed the royal carriage! Today, I will enjoy the highest level of royal treatment! And your husband? That loser Ethan didn't even show up! Maybe he's too embarrassed to come, ha ha..." Sophia clenched her skirt tightly, her face full of bitterness. If all this belonged to her, how wonderful it would be! But the harsh reality told her that this was an unattainable dream! Sophia thought sadly, 'Ethan! Where are you at this moment? Are you really too afraid to show up as they said? Are you going to make me a laughingstock of the city again on my wedding day?!' While everyone was congratulating Silvia, a voice rang out at the wedding site, "Let us through! We need to see Miss Sophia Harris!" The guests saw a priest wearing a red hood and red hat, trying to break into the wedding. Silvia said, "Who is this homeless man? How did he get into the wedding?" The priest said, "I'm not a homeless man. I'm Cardinal Paul, here to officiate Miss Sophia Harris's wedding." Everyone laughed. One guest even shouted, "A Cardinal is second only to His Holiness the Pope! How could he be dressed so poorly?" Silvia sneered, "Let this 'Cardinal' in. I want to see what he has to say." Cardinal Paul walked up to Sophia and made the sign of the cross on his chest. "Dear Miss Sophia Harris, I bless you in the name of God to be forever beautiful. By the way, do you like this wedding dress?" Sophia replied, "Thank you, I like this dress very much." Silvia scoffed, "It’s such a shabby dress! It’s just white cloth and white gauze. It looks disgusting!" Cardinal Paul nodded, "The nuns of St. Mary’s Monastery only had these materials. This wedding dress was handwoven and tailored by them, blessed by His Holiness the Pope, and given to Miss Sophia Harris with the Angel's Light. May the Holy Light of the Archangel always protect her and my dear friend, Ethan Lee." Silvia laughed, "Old man, you sure know how to brag! Fine, I’ll let you brag. My wedding carriage is about to arrive." The golden carriage was approaching them, but it was moving very slowly. This carriage, made with a lot of gold, weighed four tons, so it moved slowly. Several priests ran over, sweating, "Your Eminence! Your Eminence!" Charles looked at the leading priest and was surprised. This priest was someone Charles often saw: Bishop John, the Parish Leader. Although Bishop John's position was high, it was far below that of a Cardinal. Bishop John ran, greeting people around him. He said, "Your Eminence, why did you come alone? You, bring me and His Eminence's crowns." After giving the order, Bishop John led several clergy members to the back to change, not giving the guests a chance to ask questions. At this moment, a group of servants in tuxedos entered the Harris house, carrying red gift boxes familiar to Silvia. The servants opened the boxes. "Mr. Lee has gifted the Harris family 100 gold bars!" The gold shone brightly in the sunlight. Then, one by one, the boxes were opened: "Mr. Lee has gifted the Harris family a luxury villa!" "Mr. Lee has gifted the Harris family a custom-made top-tier luxury car!" "Mr. Ethan Lee has gifted the Harris family three rare and beautiful oriental porcelain!" These expensive gifts left Charles speechless and Silvia pale. These gifts were clearly the "gifts from Kevin" that had mysteriously disappeared seven days ago. But now, they were revealed to be from Ethan. Silvia screamed, "Impossible! This is absolutely impossible!" More gifts kept coming: "The Royal Family of Thailand, on behalf of Mr. Lee, has gifted the Harris family a gold artifact!" "The Royal Family of England, on behalf of Mr. Lee, has gifted the Harris family an Angel statuette!" Various glittering gifts filled the wedding site, dazzling everyone. The golden carriage finally stopped at the entrance of the wedding site, and the door opened, waiting for the bride to get on. The servants said in unison, "Miss Sophia Harris, please get on the carriage." Paul's voice whispered in Sophia's ear. "Miss Sophia Harris, let's go." Everyone turned around and gasped in surprise. Cardinal Paul had changed into a luxurious robe, which was not particularly new but carried a sense of history. Bishop John, in a purple robe, followed respectfully behind Cardinal Paul. Sophia was moved to tears. She nodded and prepared to take Cardinal Paul's outstretched hand. At this moment, Silvia's face twisted, her eyes red. She was filled with a crazy hope. "You're mistaken, right?! You're here to get me! I'm the one who should enjoy all this luxury!" Bishop John said sympathetically, "Kid, jealousy has clouded your mind, and greed has blinded your eyes. Cardinal Paul is a friend of Ethan's foster father. He wouldn't make a mistake." Sophia shouted madly and rushed over, "No, you're lying! I won't let her leave!" Bishop John stepped back and shouted, "Knights Templar, protect His Eminence!" The black-clad men behind the two bishops quickly stepped forward and kicked Silvia away. Six black-clad men surrounded the bishops, holding Holy Cross Swords in one hand and short-barreled assault rifles in the other, their gazes firm and cold. The Knights Templar, one of the church's three major knight orders, had a thousand-year-old history. Anyone who dared to challenge the Knights Templar was seen as the devil's minion and would be executed on the spot, with no one daring to hold a funeral for them. Cardinal Paul looked at Silvia with pity and then gently said to Sophia, "Sophia, His Holiness the Pope is elderly, and he specifically asked me to officiate your wedding. It's getting late. Let's go." Cardinal Paul took Sophia's hand and led her to the carriage. The drones in the sky followed, scattering colorful petals. The guests were shocked. After a long while, one guest suddenly shouted, "Quick! Change the names on the gifts! Remove Silvia's name and change it to Miss Sophia Harris! I need to attend Miss Sophia Harris's wedding and give her my gifts and blessings!" In an instant, all the guests who came to congratulate the Harris family reacted, hurriedly taking back the gifts they had given to Silvia. The originally piled-up living room was emptied in an instant! Silvia tried to stop the guests from taking back the gifts, but they pushed her aside, causing her to cry out in pain, "No! Don't! Those are mine! They belong to me!" The gifts were quickly taken away, leaving the Harris house empty, with only the stunned Charles and the desolate Vivian and Silvia. Charles smiled bitterly. "Ha ha... In the end, I was wrong." Charles regretted his past actions but also felt a bit of relief. 'I was blind, but my daughter isn't!' As Charles was about to leave in despair, a servant came in and stood before them. "Mr. Lee's wedding wouldn't be complete without the elders. Mr. Lee invites you to attend the wedding!"
