Chapter 16

797 Words
At this moment, the stage at the Water Arts Center was dazzlingly beautiful! As the golden carriage arrived at the front of the stage, a giant firework exploded in the sky! Little July excitedly pulled on Sophia's hand, "Mom, look! The fireworks are so pretty!" Sophia, watching the brilliant fireworks, felt dazed. 'Is such a grand wedding really mine?' The host's loud voice echoed through the venue. "The groom is coming!" In the center of the stage, Ethan slowly turned around, wearing a faint smile. He looked at the woman not far away with infinite tenderness. The moment Vivian and Silvia saw Ethan appear, their last bit of hope turned to ashes! As Sophia watched Ethan turn around, her eyes instantly became wet. Everything at that time belonged to her! On the most beautiful day of a woman's life, Ethan had given her the highest honor in the world! To the tune of the wedding march, Sophia slowly walked inside. She was wearing a pure white wedding dress, looking so beautiful that she seemed to glow! The guests at the venue talked enviously: "She's really beautiful!" "If my wedding could be like this one day, I'd be super happy!" "Heh, keep dreaming. This wedding must have cost at least a billion! And it's not just about money! Do you think you could get His Holiness the Pope's blessing?" "The Harris family's eldest daughter can have the Cardinal officiate the wedding. She's truly transformed from an ugly duckling into a swan!" "i***t, it's the Cardinal, just below His Holiness the Pope!" The guests' chatter naturally reached Silvia's ears. She clenched her fists tightly, her nails digging into her flesh. "Sophia Harris! You b***h! Why do you have such good fortune? Why am I, who should be adored by everyone, now a laughingstock?! This should all be mine! Mine!" Just then, Kevin's arrogant voice rang out. "Move! Get out of the way!" Kevin strutted up to Silvia. "Silvia, I'm sorry. I don't know which i***t sealed off all the main roads in Greenhill City today! I had to make  herculean efforts to get here. I didn't miss our engagement time, did I?" Seeing her boyfriend's arrival, Silvia grabbed his hand, staring at Sophia and Ethan on the stage with jealousy. "Honey! You came just in time! Quick, get those two bitches off the stage! I want my engagement ceremony there too!" Kevin looked up and noticed that it was Ethan and Sophia who were in the center of the stage! Having just arrived, he hadn't seen the earlier grand scene. He curled his lips in disdain. "Don't worry, honey! They're just two nobodies. Watch this!" Kevin walked towards Ethan and Sophia, looking them over before speaking with deep disdain. "Tsk tsk, I never thought a jobless loser like you would spend so much. These priests look pretty presentable. Must have cost a lot, huh?" Kevin pointed below the stage. "This place isn't for losers like you. Get lost!" Kevin pulled out a wad of cash from his pocket and threw it at Ethan. "This place is mine now. Take this money and find a random hotel to hold your ceremony. The extra is a gift from me!" Ethan lifted his head slightly, his eyes cold. "Today is our wedding day. I don't want to get angry. Get out!" Kevin was stunned, then erupted in fury. "F*ck! A poor loser dares to insult me? Believe it or not, I'll beat you to death with money..." "Bang!" Before he could finish, Drake rushed over and kicked Kevin, sending him flying! Drake's face was filled with murderous intent. "Asshole, one more word and I'll send you to hell!" Silvia screamed, quickly helping Kevin up. "Honey, are you okay?" Kevin pushed her away, his face twisted with rage! Being kicked in front of everyone made him lose his mind! Kevin shouted, "Bastard! You're with that loser Ethan, aren't you? A mere lowlife dares to touch me. I'll show you what it means to face a true noble!" Kevin hastily dialed a number. "Dad! When are you arriving? Hurry up! I was beaten by a bunch of lowlifes!" Hanging up, Kevin pointed at everyone around Ethan. "A bunch of bottom feeders! My dad's here. Soon you'll know what it's like to face true nobility. You're just ants to be stepped on!" Not long after Kevin finished, there was a commotion outside. A loud voice shouted, "Move! Make way!" A group of black-clad bodyguards roughly pushed the guests aside, making a path. Then, a middle-aged man who looked similar to Kevin, exuding arrogance, stepped forward. It was Kevin's father, Robert Taylor! Seeing his father arrive, Kevin's eyes lit up with excitement. "Silvia, see? My dad is here! You lowlifes are about to pay the price!"
