Chapter 19

As she spoke, Sophia's trembling hands moved to her shoulder strap. Ethan's warm hand gently stopped her. "Sophia! Don't do anything foolish!" Sophia cried, "I don't want to! I really don't! But July's life is on the line! What else can I do? What else can I do?!" Her tears were filled with despair. "Ethan, I'm not good enough for you. Remember that I once saved you, and take care of July for me!" Her voice trembled like a final farewell. Yes, if she really stripped in front of everyone, with Sophia's pride, she might take her own life after saving July. Ethan held her close. "Sophia, do you trust me? No one in this world can hurt our daughter in front of me!" Ethan shouted, "What are you waiting for? Do it!" At his command, his disciples moved instantly. Dante threw a chess piece, and Ezra wielded a scalpel; both acted at the same time! With a swift motion, Silvia screamed as she was struck both by the chess piece and scalpel, forcing her to release the hairpin and the child. A blur passed by, and before anyone realized it, Ghost Wolf had already caught July before she hit the ground. Lauren, standing next to Silvia, tried to intervene, but Drake's fists struck him, sending his 200-pound body flying! Drake grabbed Silvia by the neck, lifting her up, his entire body exuding killing intent. "I regret not snapping your neck earlier! But now, you can die!" Just as Drake was about to break Silvia's neck, a cold gun barrel pressed against his forehead. "Let her go!" Drake glanced sideways. It was Lauren!. Drake's fury rose even more. "Do you know what happened to those who pointed a gun at my head?" Lauren shouted, "I don't care! If you don't let go, I'll send you to hell!" Ethan, having handed July to Sophia, looked up slightly. "Having a gun? Powerful?" Lauren sneered at Ethan. "What? Aren’t you convinced? With this gun in my hand, your lives are in my hands!" He looked at Sophia. "That girl is your new wife today, right? Nice choice. I want her too! Tonight, your wife will sleep with me first! When I'm done, you can have her back!" Lauren's tone was casual, as if discussing something ordinary. Ethan's eyes filled with cold fury. "I really wonder how someone as despicable as you became a lieutenant colonel." Lauren cursed, "f**k! You dare insult me? Do you want to die?" Ethan, unafraid, spread his hands with a smile. "I still have a lot to enjoy in this world. Of course, I want to live." Lauren sneered. "I thought you were tough, but you're just a fool. If you want to live, then squat down with your hands behind your head!" Ethan smiled. "You think one gun can scare me?" Lauren laughed. "Asshole, open your eyes wide! I brought a thousand soldiers today. We have a thousand guns! With one order, I can turn you into Swiss cheese!" Ethan's smile grew wider as he shook his head. "Oh? Really? I don't believe you." Lauren coldly said, "Don't believe me? Fine, I'll show you! Men, load your weapons!" But instead of the sound of guns being loaded, there was a terrifying silence. Lauren frowned, glaring at Ethan. "Are you all deaf? Load your weapons!" But the silence remained. At this point, Lauren realized something was terribly wrong. Just then, Ethan's calm voice rang out, "It seems your thousand guns aren't obeying you. How about they listen to me instead?" Immediately, Ethan shouted, "Ready to fire!" Click! The sound of guns being c****d was in unison and deafening like a thunderclap. Sweat covered Lauren's forehead as he trembled, slowly turning around. His 200-pound body collapsed to the ground. The thousand soldiers he had brought were all disarmed and replaced by soldiers wearing the Northern Legion's insignia! A thousand cold gun barrels, filled with killing intent, were aimed at Lauren. Lauren's heart pounded with fear. 'These are battle-hardened warriors, not like my National Guard! But why are the Northern Legion special forces here, and why are they taking orders from Ethan?' As Lauren struggled to make sense of the situation, General Trump's imposing figure appeared. The commander of the Northern Legion and one of the federal five-star generals, he was unmistakable. Lauren stammered, "G-General Trump... why are you here?" General Trump looked down at him, a bloodthirsty smile on his lips. "Of course I'm here. Not just me, but Chad Grant, Morgan Joel and the other four generals are rushing here too! But now, I might tell them not to hurry. Do you know why?" Lauren's mind went blank. "W-why?" General Trump coldly said, "Because, Lieutenant Colonel, you were about to take the master's wife. What's the point of rushing to a wedding without the bride? Don't you agree?"
