The next morning, Sophia checked the time and said, "Today is the day Silvia Harris and her boyfriend discuss their engagement. The luncheon is in two hours. I need to get ready. Oh, Ethan, July hasn't had breakfast yet. Can you take her to eat something? I need to go home and get the invitation card."
Ethan thought about what his wife had said. Silvia was Sophia's half-sister, and from what he knew, they didn't get along well.
Ethan nodded. "Alright! I'll come pick you up later."
Sophia left hurriedly, and Ethan carried July out of City Hospital.
Outside the door, Ghost Wolf approached him respectfully. "Master!"
Ethan said calmly, "Notify everyone, prepare enough gifts. I am visiting the Harris family today. I want Sophia and July to return home in glory!"
Ghost Wolf replied, "Yes, sir!"
After Ghost Wolf left, Ethan took July to the entrance of a high-end restaurant. July was confused. "Daddy, are we going to eat here? Isn't it very expensive?"
Ethan affectionately tapped her little nose. "Yes, Daddy is taking you to eat the best food!"
July hesitated and said, "Daddy, but the food here is too expensive. I want to eat fried chicken. Ten dollars can buy ten pieces of fried chicken."
Seeing how sensible she was, Ethan's heart ached. 'My daughter, what kind of hardships have you endured these five years?'
He took a deep breath and held July tightly in his arms, saying emotionally, "Don't worry. I promise you that from today, you will enjoy the most luxurious treatment in the world! As Ethan's daughter, you deserve the same respect as a princess!"
Ethan carried his daughter into the restaurant and told her, "They also have fried chicken here, and it's tastier than anywhere else."
Ethan ordered some delicious food, along with two plates of tasty fried chicken. July's smile was as beautiful as an angel's when the food was served.
Ethan smiled and said, "July, you must be hungry. Eat up."
Watching his daughter eat with difficulty, Ethan felt guilty. "You're thirsty, right? I’m so careless. I forgot to get you juice. Wait here, I'll get it for you."
July smiled and said, "Daddy, let me get the juice for you. Mommy says that good things should be shared with the ones you love the most."
Ethan smiled and nodded. "Alright, be careful on the way. Don't trip."
July went to the counter and ordered two large drinks, then carefully walked back.
From a distance, Ethan watched his daughter carrying the two large drinks, muttering softly, "Be careful on the way, don't trip. Be careful..."
Seeing how well-behaved she was, Ethan smiled.
Suddenly, a man walked out from the corner of the mall. July, who was walking slowly, quickly dodged, but the two drinks were still knocked over, spilling the juice everywhere.
The waiter hurriedly said, "Mr. Brown, I'm sorry!"
Bruce Brown ignored the waiter and glared at July. "Where did this little brat come from? You got my clothes dirty!"
Ethan came over and gently held his daughter.
July, scared, nestled into Ethan's arms and whispered, "Daddy, I'm scared!"
Ethan softly said, "Don't be afraid, July. Daddy is here."
Bruce started cursing at Ethan. "Is this little girl your daughter? Where did you poor folks come from? You’re dressed so shabby and cheap! If you can't afford to eat here, go get free food on the street. That's where you homeless people belong!"
The waiter nodded and said, "Mr. Brown, I apologize on behalf of this guest."
Bruce shouted, "Get lost! What's the use of an apology? If an apology could solve everything, why would we need guns?"
Ethan calmly asked, "You don't accept the apology? What do you want then?"
Bruce arrogantly said, "Jerk, make this little brat bow and apologize to me immediately and compensate me with 20 thousand dollars. Maybe then I'll be kind enough to forgive you, otherwise..."
Ethan remained calm. "Otherwise, what will you do?"
Bruce roared, "Otherwise, I'll make you understand what hellish pain is!"
The surrounding people whispered in fear, "What? Bruce Brown?!"
"I heard this guy is a gang leader. He has killed dozens if not hundreds of people!"
"That poor kid in his arms is in big trouble now..."
The whispers naturally reached Bruce's ears, and he smiled arrogantly. "Jerk, how about it? Give me an answer."
Ethan calmly shook his head. "We did nothing wrong, so there’s no need to apologize."
Bruce was furious, and his large hands reached for Ethan. "Alright, I'll beat you until you apologize!"
Ethan coldly said, "You overestimate yourself! Get lost!"
Crack!
"Ah!" Bruce let out a painful scream as his thick arm was twisted. The crisp sound of bones breaking made everyone extremely scared.
Bruce held his arm in pain and sat on the ground, shouting, "My hand! My hand!"
Seeing this, everyone fell silent. This man broke Bruce's arm with one punch?! How much force was needed to do it?
When Bruce looked at Ethan again, his eyes were full of fear. "Sir, I'm sorry. Please forgive me…"
Ethan sneered, "If an apology worked, why would we need guns?"
Bruce was stunned for a moment, and then he remembered his arrogant words earlier, his hair standing on end. 'I was just trying to scare him. He won't really kill me, right?'
Bruce crawled to Ethan's feet, held his pant leg, and cried, "I was wrong, sir. I'm willing to make amends. Please, just tell me what you want."
Ethan then held July's hand and said, "You were wrong, but the person you should apologize to is my daughter, not me."
Bruce quickly looked at July. "Little girl, I was wrong. Please say something nice for me. I don't want to die!"
July looked at Bruce pitifully and tugged on Ethan's sleeve, "Daddy, forgive him. He didn't do it on purpose."
Ethan gently touched July's cheek and nodded, "Alright, July. You’re so kind. I’ll let him go."
Hearing that Ethan was willing to let him go, Bruce sighed in relief, then looked at the waiter. "What are you staring at? Hurry up and see him off."
The waiter nodded quickly and was about to approach Ethan when he raised his hand to stop him. He then said slowly, "No rush. I'm heading to my wife's family, and I need a car."
Hearing this, Bruce, though pained about his new car, quickly replied, "I just bought a new Lamborghini two days ago. Here's the key. From today on, it's yours." With that, Bruce painfully handed the key to Ethan. Ethan nodded and led his daughter outside.
Once outside, they saw a limited-edition Lamborghini parked there. July curiously asked in a low voice, "Daddy, why did he give us his car?"
Ethan hugged July. "July, sweetie, he knew he did something wrong and wanted to make amends. This way, he can learn to be a better person in the future."
Ethan couldn't explain everything to July. He thought, 'Evil people need to be punished. Otherwise, they'll keep doing evil.'
Fifteen minutes later, Ethan and July arrived at Sophia's home.
When Sophia saw July dressed like a princess, her gaze softened. 'This man really loves his daughter.'
Ethan urged, "It's getting late. Let's go!"
Sophia exclaimed, "Oh no! If we take the bus now, we'll be late!"
Ethan smiled and said, "No worries, I have a car!"
When Sophia saw the gleaming Lamborghini downstairs, she looked at Ethan in confusion. "Is this... your car?"
Ethan shook his head. "No."
Sophia felt a bit disappointed, thinking it must be a rental. Men always indulged in vanity, and she could understand that.
The car sped through the city and finally arrived at the Harris family home before noon.
At the entrance, a crowd had already gathered. When the Lamborghini arrived, an exclamation of envy echoed around.
"Oh my! Isn't this the limited-edition Lamborghini launched this year? So cool!"
"It's just too amazing! Silvia, I heard your boyfriend is from a prominent family in Crownspire. Is this his car?"
"I'm so jealous!"
Silvia, with an arrogant expression, said, "Of course! Besides my boyfriend, who else in Greenhill City has the means to drive such a nice car?"
Silvia ran to open the car door. As the door opened, the plainly dressed but beautiful Sophia stepped out.
Silvia's smile froze in surprise. "How could it be you?!"
