When Ethan and Sophia arrived at the Flying Dragon Hotel, the large parking lot looked like a luxury car exhibition. As an international chain of five-star hotels, the Flying Dragon Hotel was never short of customers.
Ethan took Sophia's hand, "Let's go upstairs. Your classmates must be getting anxious by now."
After reaching the private room Martin had reserved, Sophia tidied herself up a bit before pushing the door open. She glanced around, a bright smile on her face as she greeted everyone, "Sorry to keep you all waiting."
At that moment, Sophia, in her long white dress, with her beautiful looks and pure temperament, looked like an angel descending to the mortal world. Martin's eyes flashed with deep shock, then he stood up with a gentlemanly smile, spreading his arms, "Sophia, long time no see, you are even more beautiful now!"
Following behind Sophia, Ethan immediately noticed Martin's action. Frowning, Ethan quickly pulled Sophia aside and stepped forward to embrace Martin himself.
Ethan laughed, "Oh, how enthusiastic! You shouldn't have."
Martin, who found himself hugging an unfamiliar man instead of the beauty he desired, quickly stepped back with a deep frown on his face, "Who are you? This is a private gathering, please leave!"
Sophia stepped forward, took a deep breath, and with a slightly flushed face, linked arms with Ethan, introducing him, "He is my husband."
As soon as she said this, Martin's face turned ugly. Some male classmates glanced at Martin with mocking eyes. 'I didn't expect that, did you, Martin? Her husband came along, let's see what you can do now.'
Meanwhile, several female classmates sized Ethan up. Although they found him fairly good-looking, they quickly lost interest upon learning he was just a regular teacher. 'He's so young, even if he's a professor, how much can he earn?'
With these thoughts in mind, the women looked at Sophia with a mix of disdain and superiority. 'Even if you were the most beautiful, the best student, and the most chased after in college, what does it matter? In the end, you married a loser.'
At this moment, Martin wished he could kick Ethan out. He never expected Sophia to bring Ethan along!
Ethan surveyed the room, and when he noticed the anger flashing in Martin's eyes, he couldn't help but laugh inwardly. 'Oh Martin, you probably organized this class reunion for less than innocent reasons, right?'
Sophia looked at the stunned Martin and asked, "Martin?"
Martin immediately came back to his senses, reached out to Ethan very politely, and said, "Hello, I'm Martin, Sophia's senior from college!"
A glint of cunning flashed in Ethan's eyes, but he smiled and shook Martin's hand. "The famous piano prince, Martin. I've heard so much about you! I'm Ethan, Sophia's husband."
As Ethan and Martin shook hands, an invisible tension sparked between the two men. Ethan's unexpected presence had disrupted Martin's plans, so Martin certainly couldn't shamelessly sit next to Sophia.
Seeing Ethan and Sophia standing close together, Martin's face darkened. He then signaled subtly to Mike Fox, his loyal follower. Mike quickly caught on.
Mike approached enthusiastically and said, "Ethan, you're really lucky! You've married our college's greatest beauty. My name is Mike Fox; I admire you so much. Here's my card. Let's be friends. We can hang out, have drinks, and enjoy life together."
Mike handed Ethan a business card. Ethan shook his head with a smile. "Sorry, I don't become friends with men who chase after my wife or their friends. Besides, I don't share your interests. We are not suitable to be friends."
Mike's face immediately darkened, and he said coldly, "Isn't it a bit rude to refuse a gesture of friendship like this, Ethan?"
Suddenly, the lively chatter in the room fell silent.
Mike's friends, full of aggression, said, "A mere teacher dares to refuse Mike's business card?"
"Heh heh... Who would have guessed he'd be so arrogant; he's so stuck up that he can't even be friends with us!"
Martin subtly smiled but quickly put on a good guy act. "Mike, don't cause trouble. We're regulars at five-star hotels, and it's normal for someone who's used to a poor lifestyle not to want to hang out with us."
Mike sneered, "Martin, don't worry about this one!"
He then looked at Ethan, "Dude, if you really don't want to, that's fine. Go squat in a corner and let my friends beat you up. Or I can give you another option: a man's duel. We'll drink and see who can drink more. How about it?"
After hearing this, Martin quickly gave him a look of approval. 'I didn't expect Mike to be so clever, getting Ethan drunk is genius. Looks like I'll achieve my goal tonight.'
Sophia's face changed, "Mike, how can you be so pushy?"
Mike laughed arrogantly, "Pushy? I'm just testing your husband. If a man can't even drink, does he deserve to be a man? Ha ha..."
The crowd burst into laughter, and a hint of disdain flashed in Ethan's eyes. He looked at Mike and asked, "Do you really want to drink?"
Mike sneered, "What? Do you have the guts to drink with me?"
Ethan didn't know, but the other classmates did. Mike was known as a heavy drinker in school. After years of socializing, his tolerance had only improved.
Ethan's lips curved into a smile, "If we're going to drink, we should do it right. How about each of us drinking ten bottles of whiskey?"
