Chapter 50

With Martin's emotional confession and stunningly handsome looks, it was impossible to turn him down. The stadium echoed with countless voices, "Say yes! Say yes!" The women around looked at Sophia with envy and jealousy. Tiffany anxiously tugged at Sophia's sleeve, "Sophia! What are you waiting for? Say yes! If you agree, you'll never worry about anything in the future! From now on, you'll live a superior life! Why are you hesitating?" Sophia firmly shook her head with the crowd watching, saying, "I'm sorry. I refuse." Martin was stunned. He hadn't expected to be refused. He couldn't accept it and asked in shock, "Why? Tell me why!" Ethan was finally relieved, and a warm smile appeared on his face. He slowly stood up and took Sophia into his arms as if declaring his ownership. Ethan looked at Martin on the stage, his voice booming through the loudspeakers, "Piano Prince, don't you know that legal marriages are protected by law? Don't you know that seducing someone else's wife is immoral?" Martin's eyes filled with disbelief as he looked at Sophia, "Sophia, are you rejecting me because of this loser? What can he give you? I'm the one who can give you the life you want.!" Sophia's face was full of anger, "Martin! I appreciate your admiration, but I already rejected you in college! Yes, he's not as excellent as you, but it was he who stood by my side at my most difficult time, shielding me from all the hardship." Sophia shouted, "It was him who steadfastly supported me at my most helpless! Love can't be measured by money and status. He loves me deeply, and that's enough!" Martin, losing control of his emotions, shouted, "No! I don't believe it! How can I be inferior to a loser like him? How is this possible?" no longer the composed gentleman he once was, Martin looked at Ethan with bloodshot eyes. "Ethan, you know exactly who you are! Just ask yourself, can you make Sophia happy? Staying by her side will only bring her suffering!" Through gritted teeth, Martin continued, "You are just a nobody living at the bottom of society. What right do you have to be with a perfect woman like Sophia?" Feeling the venom in Martin's words, Sophia's face turned pale. She gave Ethan an apologetic look and tugged at his sleeve, "Let's go!" To her surprise, Ethan grabbed her hand in return and smiled at her, "Sophia, thank you. I will remember every word you just said. But there's something you all have misunderstood, which is that I'm not inferior to him in any way." As Ethan finished speaking, a powerful aura slowly rose from him. Sophia's mouth opened slightly in surprise. At that moment, Ethan gave her a completely different feeling, as if his presence commanded respect like a towering mountain. Ethan turned his head and looked at Martin, calmly asking, "Martin, what makes you say I can't make Sophia happy?" Martin was taken aback, not expecting Ethan to talk back. He immediately retorted mercilessly, "Ethan, do you think I haven't looked into you? You have no money, no power, no job, nothing! What can you compare with me? Are you richer than me, more handsome than me, or can you play the piano better than me?" Ethan laughed, "So, as long as you have money, power, or can play the piano, you can find true love? I may not have much money, but when it comes to piano skills..." A slight smile curled up at the corner of Ethan's mouth, "I'm a little bit knowledgeable about it." Martin was momentarily stunned, then burst into loud laughter, "What did you just say? Did my ears deceive me? A loser like you says you are knowledgeable about piano? Haha..." Not only Martin, but the entire audience also laughed along. How would he say he knew about piano in front of the Piano Prince? This guy must be out of his mind, looking to humiliate himself! Even Tiffany, standing to the side, stomped her foot in disdain, "Sophia, what the hell were you thinking? Look at your husband, he doesn't have much talent, but his boasts are off the charts." Tiffany confidently said, "Just wait, after today, you two will definitely be the biggest laughingstock in Crownspire!" Sophia bit her lip deeply but looked at Ethan with unwavering eyes, "I believe in him." Martin sneered, "Ethan, don't blame me for not giving you a chance. Since you say you know about piano, why don't we take this opportunity to have a competition?" Martin's tone was full of provocation! Ethan calmly said, "A competition? Of course, but I'm afraid if you lose too badly, the title of Piano Prince will be gone. That wasn’t good." Martin was so angry, his nose almost twisted. He glared at Ethan furiously, "Fine! If you can beat me in piano skills, I’ll give up the title of Piano Prince, even smash the piano right here and never touch it again!" Ethan sneered, "What's the use of smashing a piano? If you're going to smash something, smash all your fingers." The audience was in an uproar as Ethan walked up to the stage, smiling slightly, "Mind if I use your piano?" Martin's face was contorted with rage, but he pretended to be generous, "Go ahead." Ethan sat in front of the piano and plucked two keys, producing two monotone clinks. The audience immediately erupted in mocking laughter. "Loser! Do you even know how to play the piano?" "What’s he doing? I'm afraid I'll have to go up there and beat him if I can't stand it!" Ethan seemed oblivious to the mocking laughter around him. He murmured, "It's been a long time since I last played. I wonder how much of my old skills remain!" Then Ethan slowly placed his hands on the keys, looked over at Martin, and said, "Here I go. Hey, Piano Prince, are you ready?"
