Chapter 73

1100 Words
Ethan turned his head to see Maud leading a large group of people, along with a crowd of onlookers eager for drama, pouring out from the bar. In an instant, the entrance of the bar was packed with people. Feeling more confident with reinforcements, Maud pointed at Ethan and taunted, "Trying to leave? You are too naive." Ethan's gaze grew colder. It seemed the earlier lesson hadn't taught Maud anything. Ethan asked coldly, "What do you want?" If listening closely, they would notice the coldness in Ethan's voice. Although Ethan didn't like trouble, he didn't mind stretching his muscles when trouble came his way. Maud raised his chin and pointed at Henderson behind him. "If you don't give me an explanation, how am I supposed to run my bar?" Maud turned to Henderson, "I've heard you've been in over eighty boxing matches without a single loss, and your record for hospitalizing an opponent is 135 days, right?" Although Maud was talking to Henderson, his eyes were fixed on Ethan, clearly directing the message to him. Henderson raised his fist proudly. "To be precise, anyone who leaves the hospital in less than seven days after facing me is a result of my mercy!" Zora's face turned pale. Although Zora was rebellious, she wasn't inherently bad. Seeing Ethan in danger because of her, she didn't run away. Instead, she stood beside Ethan and whispered, "Mr. Lee, Don't have conflict with them. Let's just go!" Ethan looked at Zora in surprise and then said, "Don't worry. A so-called boxing king from Thailand doesn't concern me." Not just Maud, but the onlookers were also amused by Ethan, mocking him. "Is he crazy? Does he know who Henderson the Boxing King is?" "Haha... I bet a dime this bragging brat won't last ten moves against the Boxing King!" Maud looked at Ethan as if he were an i***t. "Now I really doubt your intelligence. If you can beat Henderson, I'll give you ten thousand dollars on the spot!" Ethan grinned. "You might prepare the money right now!" He turned to Henderson and beckoned with his hand provocatively. "Come on, I'll give you one chance to make a move!" As an undefeated underground boxing king, Henderson had never been looked down on like that. He was instantly enraged, his voice deep and menacing. "Ignorant fool, the price for underestimating the Boxing King is that I'll break every bone in your body, one by one!" The surrounding crowd had encircled the area, their faces filled with excitement and anticipation. Having spent years in the bar scene, they were well-acquainted with Henderson's notorious reputation. They were already imagining how they would vent their excitement when Henderson brutalized Ethan. "Boxing King, kill him! Show him your power!" "I bet everything I have that the Boxing King will knock him down in three moves!" Relishing the encouragement, Henderson grinned. "Now, do you realize the fate you're about to face?" Ethan felt wordless as he couldn't help but dig in his ear. "If you want to fight, just do it. Stop barking." Infuriated by such humiliation, Henderson roared and launched a powerful spinning kick, aiming directly at Ethan's head with a fierce gust of wind. Maud's face was full of excitement as he heard the whistling sound of the kick. Maud could already imagine the next moment when Ethan's head would be smashed like a watermelon! Bang! A crisp sound of flesh hitting flesh echoed through the air, and the crowd, who had been in an uproar, fell silent in an instant. The smile that was about to form on Maud's face froze in place. Beside him, Zora's face was flushed with excitement, looking like a devoted admirer. She shouted, "Mr. Lee! You're amazing!" Ethan showed a slight disdainful smile as he caught Henderson's kicking right foot with one hand. "Bro, your strength isn't up to par!" As he spoke, a glint of cruelty flashed in Ethan's eyes. He exerted force suddenly. Crack! A scream of agony echoed through the air. Ethan twisted his hand sharply, producing another cracking sound. Henderson fell to the ground, clutching his ankle and howling in pain. Ethan slowly walked up to him, looking down. "Stop howling. If you go to the hospital now, your foot can still be saved." Zora clapped her hands excitedly. "Ah! Mr. Lee! You're the best!" With her face flushed, Zora gave Ethan a deep hug. The onlookers' eyes were all fixed on Ethan. The men looked shocked, while many women had a hint of desire in their gazes. For women, a strong man could stir their hormones. Maud screamed wildly, "Trash! You f*****g trash!" He hadn't expected that the boxing king he had hired at a high price would be defeated by Ethan in just one move. Ethan glanced at Maud, causing him to take two steps back in fear. "W-what are you going to do?" Ethan smiled faintly. "Your prized boxing king has been defeated. What do you think you can stop me?" Maud's face turned pale, but in front of the crowd, he forced himself to say, "I-I'm telling you, don't mess around. I have over a hundred men. If you hurt me, they'll kill you!" Maud stammered, "So calm down. I'll have someone bring the money." But compared to earlier, his words were clearly much timider. Ethan scoffed, his eyes showing silent contempt. "I don't want your money, but your leg." Recalling Ethan's fierce and decisive attack earlier, Maud believed he would do as he said. Terrified, Maud turned to run. Ethan caught his arm quickly and kicked at his knee. With a crack, Maud's knee twisted at an odd angle, causing him to scream in pain. Ethan said coldly, "If I catch you doing bad things again, I'll break your other leg, and you'll spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair." Maud nodded painfully in agreement. Ethan's mouth curled into a slight smile as he turned to Zora. "Let's go." Zora nodded obediently and left with him. With no more excitement to watch, the crowd gradually dispersed, discussing everything that had happened. The defeat of the boxing king and Maud's pathetic look, becoming the talk of the night. Once the crowd was gone, Maud's men cautiously approached and looked at the fallen Henderson. "Boss, what should we do now?" Maud groaned in pain, "What else? Call an ambulance and get me to the hospital!" Though Ethan had broken Maud's leg, Maud, being vengeful by nature, was far from a good person. Maud's sinister voice echoed in the dark night. "Find out everything about him."
