Chapter 10Devante graduated library school in a cheap plasticky gown, a mortarboard on his head and a stole over his shoulders. To his great surprise, the dean who read out his name pronounced it correctly. He could hear Preeda, who had already received her degree, whoop from the crowd. There was still half the alphabet to go after he walked, but it passed surprisingly quickly. His and Preeda’s cohort was relatively small, and the buzz of finally being finished with grad school swept the rest of the ceremony by in a daze.
