Chapter 14This situation called for an even more rigorous grooming ritual than originally meeting Michael had, Devante decided. Michael’s dinner party was finally scheduled, after much back and forth, to replace their Saturday night drinks a week after he returned home from Tokyo. Enchiladas were on the menu: Michael’s mother’s recipe, to be served with red wine and saffron rice. Devante forced himself to sleep in the day of the big event, rolling over the first two times he woke up and burying his face in his pillow until he fell asleep again.
