Chapter Four: Harrison Cole

789 Words
It was two in the morning, and Julian Hawthorne was still awake. Perhaps because the more he thought about it, the more resentful he felt, the less sleepy he could be. He gazed at the girl beside him, a pang of reluctance rising in his heart. He told himself, "She's just a woman someone gave me, why bother so much? Julian Hawthorne, when did you become like this?" Feeling increasingly humiliated, Julian Hawthorne pulled her closer, forcefully kissing her lips. After her slight resistance and a long, delicate kiss, he took her once more. This time, she cried even harder, but she didn't faint. He held her waist, thrusting vigorously until dawn, her voice almost hoarse from crying, before finally letting her go. He leaned against the headboard and dozed off for a while. For him, these two encounters were merely an appetizer, but for her, perhaps it was already her physical limit. Yvaine curled up in his arms like a cat, fast asleep. Julian Hawthorne lowered his head and gently kissed her smooth forehead. It seemed he would be staying in S City for a few more days. The morning sun shone warmly on the disheveled bed, a reminder of what had happened the night before. Yvaine's eyelashes fluttered, she turned over, and woke up. Sitting on the bed, she gazed at the enormous presidential suite of the five-star hotel. This room was exceptionally large. A study, a master bedroom, a second bedroom, even the kitchen was fully equipped. The room seemed to have been tidied; Julian Hawthorne wasn't in. She found a stack of clothes on the bedside table, with a note he had left on them. 'These clothes are for you. Call room service if you're hungry. I'll be back in a bit,' the short, concise lines read, as swift and decisive as he was. Yvaine blushed at the thought of last night's events. She turned on the TV, sat on the sofa, and listlessly watched a drama. Soon, the morning passed, and Julian Hawthorne still hadn't returned. Her stomach began to rumble. She considered ordering room service, but even a simple meal there cost several hundred dollars, which she thought was too expensive. So, she went to the window and looked down. This was downtown; there were plenty of places to eat outside, and several familiar convenience stores were nearby. "I'll just go out for a bit; he shouldn't be back so soon!" With a glimmer of hope, Yvaine put on her shoes and went downstairs, her stomach growling. Crossing the busy street, she bought a bread roll at the convenience store. The bread was devoured in a few bites. Perhaps because of her vigorous activity last night, these ordinary foods tasted especially delicious. After she finished eating, a man in a Porsche parked his car in front of the convenience store and got out. The man was talking incessantly on the phone, seemingly in a hurry to attend a dance. As he left, he accidentally dropped his wallet in the convenience store. Yvaine saw it, quickly picked it up, and chased after him. “Sir, please wait a moment, you dropped your wallet!” Yvaine returned the wallet to the man. The man hung up the phone, turned around, and took the wallet. “Oh. Thank you.” His gaze fell on Yvaine. Where did this girl come from? She seemed like an angel. Could this be his lucky break? “Thank you for finding my wallet.” Yvaine smiled sweetly. “It’s nothing, you’re welcome.” With that, she walked past the man, leaving a clean scent behind, and headed towards The Aethelred, not far away. The man hurriedly chased after her and stopped her at the traffic light. “Miss, please wait a moment. May I ask your name?” Yvaine looked at the man who had approached her, pursed her lips, and sized him up. He had fair skin, was quite handsome, had a clean-shaven head, and wore a diamond earring, looking like a wealthy young master. She didn't particularly like men like him, and besides, she didn't want Julian Hawthorne to see him. The man sensed Yvaine's thoughts and quickly explained, “I'm sorry, miss, don't be afraid. My name is Qin Feng. I mean no harm. I just wanted to know your name so I could thank you.” “You're welcome, it's nothing.” “How can it be nothing?” He opened his wallet, saying, “My cards and ID are all in my wallet. Giving them back to me is a huge help. My car is over there; let me take you home!” Harrison Cole deliberately showed off his car, his eyes fixed on Yvaine.
