Flashback

"MOMMMM!!" I shriek from my bedroom, she comes running, as she always does in times of emergency. "what is it?! oh my God, what happened Saph?!" she's yelling as she runs into my room. "l..l..look.." I barely get out in between my sobs, while handing her my phone.

She's looking at my phone as she sits down next to me, sighing and putting her arm around me. "Honey, I'm so sorry.. they never should have done that to you, its despicable. I know it hurts like hell right now but trust me, soon enough you won't even remember him, your going to experience a love that he could never dream of experiencing. They're not like us, they marry and feel love and everything but their bond isn't strong like ours, it isn't necessary. Trust me baby, I know it feels like it will never happen but you will get over this."

I look up at her, admiring her beauty and strength. "thanks mom, you always know what to say to make me feel better. What a b**** though, she was supposed to be my friend!"

"hey, watch your mouth" my mom says, as she giggles "it is true though".

As we're talking we hear my dad's truck pulling into the driveway so we go downstairs to see him and my little brother in the door.

"How's my girls?" he says, beeming with a smile as he walks through the door, behind my brother Gage, while I run and give him a hug "hey daddy, I had the worst day. Josh and Kayla are dating!"

"what?! I think I may need to teach him a little lesson on how to treat my baby girl" he says, with a serious look on his face, although I know he's only joking. "oh stop, as much as I want you too , you'd probably the kill the kid" my mom says to him while she leans in for a kiss. "mmmm, I've missed you today my beautiful mate" my dad whispers to my mom.

As embarrassing as it is to see these gross moments between my mom and dad I can't help but smile at them, they're like kids in love, after all these years! I can't wait to have the same thing and feel that way about someone. I thought I did with Josh, but clearly that was a huge mistake.

my brother is flopping down on the couch when he throws a pillow at me "wanna play a game with me Saph?" "sure Gagey, just give me a minute okay"

I run upstairs to get my phone, as I'm leaving my bedroom I glance out my window and could have sworn I seen a figure standing in the trees, looking towards our house. when I take a closer look though there's nothing there.

That night we're eating a dinner when theirs a knock at the door, my Dad answered it but when he did Noone was their. he had a worried look on his face and looked at my mom who looked equally worried. After dinner I hear them in the kitchen, they're talking low like they didn't want me to hear them "are you sure it was him John?" "I'm sure, I'd never forget that scent, not in a million years" "well if he found us what do we do, what does he want, after all this time?" just then I shift my feet and my Dad turns his head towards me, damn, he knows I'm listening.

"come in here Saphire, we need to talk to you"

"No John! Not yet! We can't!"

"we have too"

"come on honey, come here we have something important we need to talk about and it cannot wait any longer..."
