Chapter 12: Why Forgive Them

"To make this village into a Kingdom we have to expand it..."
"We have to build more houses..."
"And anyone who wants to join this Kingdom, we will accept them doesn't matter what species they are. Anyone and everyone is allowed in this village..."
"Is that clear everyone..."
Kurohito gave a loud speech infront of everyone in the village centre standing high on a podium. He wanted to make his intentions clear for everyone. The next quest required him to turn this village into a Kingdom and he has started doing it. By allowing anyone to join this village it will grow fast, as he's in a hurry...
"Maybe it's too late to ask, but why do you want to make this village into a Kingdom..."
"Also why are you allowing these Pillagers to stay here..."
"How can everyone forgive them, does no one remembers what they did to us. Does no one remember how they killed our own people..."
"And now we're living in harmony all of a sudden..."
"Was this your intention from the beginning, you helped this village for your own benefit, didn't you."
"You wanted to look good infront of everyone so they will follow you for your actual intention. And this are all the preparations that you are doing..."
A rebellious kid from the crowd spoke with fierce look in her eyes and a determined voice which resonated with every words. She seemed angry and frustrated that everyone was cool about it.
Kurohito tries to look for her in the crowd looking far behind looking at each person trying to find her but he's unable to find her...
"Hey... stop looking far back I'm right here don't act like you can't see me..."
The kid spoke again, this time shouting at him annoyed... And it seemed she was standing right infront of podium Kurohito was standing... but he didn't see her which made her angry...
Kurohito looks towards the sound, now looking below, he sees a tiny girl who's moving her arms and legs angrily with frustration... Kurohito got down from the podium and approached the girl...
"So you're the girl who asked that question correct?..."
Kurohito leans down and speaks as if he's talking to a child, with a kind and soft voice...
"Arrrggggg!!!..."
"I'm not a child, don't talk to me like that it's annoying... Everyone treats me like I'm child..."
The kid shouts and speaks with a loud voice...
"So tell your name and I'll answer your questions..."
Kurohito still talks as if she's a kid...
"I said stop it..."
"Urrrggg..."
"Hmmmp... whatever, my name is Lyrith..."
The kid finally calms down and stops shouting... and answers to Kurohito's questions...
"So Lyrith... tell me why do you think I'm planning something and that this was all plan of winning everyone's trust..."
Kurohito asks Lyrith still continuing with the soft voice...
"I already told you I'm not a kid so stop talking like that with me..."
"I think you are plotting something because you are..."
"I mean..."
"I don't know why but everyone is accepting these Pillagers, even though they killed our own people..."
Lyrith points at the Pillagers while saying...
"why is everyone so acceptance to them..."
"how can everyone forgive them so easily..."
"they killed our people..."
She starts tearing up...
"They killed my Parents... why is everyone forgiving them..."
"Because I could never forgive these 'Monsters' never..."
"And they all forgive these Pillagers because of you..."
"If you were not here everyone would have still continued on hating them..."
"So why are you doing this... what will you get by all of this..."
"I don't understand..."
Tear run through her eyes as she says... everyone looking at her then looking away. The Pillagers are filled with guilt...
Kurohito wipes her tears...
"You don't have to forgive them... what they did is unforgivable..."
"but even then if we keep on this way of thinking, if we could never think of forgiving them..."
"Then we might never be able to move on life..."
"We will never be able to achieve our goals..."
"And it's important to move, you have to move on..."
"What they did was not out of their own will... they had no other choice but to do it..."
"So we can't hold this grudge forever..."
"I won't tell you to forgive them, it's all up to you..."
Kurohito says, sounding genuine and wise...
"I gave an awfully long speech didn't I..."
"What if all the things I said doesn't make sense..."
"What if she starts to hate them even more..."
"Ahhh... what do I do..."
Kurohito overthinking if he should have said that or not...
He looks at Lyrith
"Fine I'll try to forgive them... but I can't do it now..."
Lyrith said...
"It's fine take your own time..."
Kurohito reliefed that she didn't start hating them even more...
"I guess my speech was fine..."
Kurohito thought...
"But you haven't answered my questions yet..."
"Did you save this village because of your own benefits..."
Lyrith looks at Kurohito's eyes while saying...
Kurohito looked confused as to how he should answer, as he helped this village because of the Quest. And if not for the Quest he wouldn't have helped them...
