Chapter 14: The Council of Kings

825 Words
The Council of Rulers had gathered in the grand hall of the Rieburgh Kingdom, an opulent chamber adorned with exquisite tapestries and glistening chandeliers. The air was thick with anticipation as the ten kings settled into their ornate thrones, their expressions a mixture of curiosity and skepticism. Kurohito, the ambitious player who sought to build a kingdom, was the subject of their discussion. King Alexander of Rieburgh, a dignified ruler with a flowing white beard, called the meeting to order. "Gentlemen, we are here to discuss a matter of great importance..." "We have all heard of the player known as Kurohito, who seeks to transform the Savan Village into a kingdom..." King Harald of Crestfall Kingdom, known for his skepticism, leaned forward in his throne. "Is it wise to trust a player with such grand aspirations?..." "They are unpredictable, driven by their own desires rather than the welfare of our realms..." King Leopold of Verdantia, a wise and diplomatic ruler, raised an eyebrow. "While I understand your concerns..." "King Harald, we must also acknowledge the feats Kurohito has achieved..." "He defended the Savan Village against the Pillagers and has shown a remarkable ability to lead..." King Edwin of Stormholm Kingdom, known for his fierce temper, scoffed. "Leading a small village is one thing, but building an entire kingdom requires knowledge and experience beyond what a mere player possesses. I doubt his capabilities..." King Alexander raised his hand, calling for order. "Let us not dismiss Kurohito's potential without proper consideration..." "Our kingdoms were built on dreams and aspirations, and it is only fair to give this player a chance..." King Oswald of Dawnshroud Kingdom, a gentle and compassionate ruler, spoke up. "Perhaps we should send a representative to observe the Savan Village firsthand. Actions speak louder than words, after all." The suggestion garnered approval from the other rulers, and it was King Alexander who decided to take on the task himself. Without informing Kurohito, he assembled a small group of guards and set off on horseback towards the Savan Village. ... Meanwhile, back at the council meeting, the discussion continued. King Harald crossed his arms, his face etched with skepticism. "We must prioritize the well-being of our kingdoms. Allowing a player to build a kingdom without proper oversight could lead to chaos..." King Edwin nodded in agreement. "We have worked tirelessly to establish order and prosperity within our realms. We cannot simply entrust such responsibilities to an unknown entity..." King Leopold stroked his beard thoughtfully. "Gentlemen, while caution is warranted, we must also consider the potential benefits of Kurohito's endeavor..." "His vision of a united kingdom, open to all races, is a bold one. It could pave the way for greater cooperation and harmony..." King Oswald interjected, his voice gentle yet resolute. "We cannot dismiss the power of dreams and the resilience of the human spirit..." "Kurohito has inspired the people of the Savan Village, and perhaps he can inspire us as well..." The room fell into a contemplative silence, the weight of their decision hanging heavy in the air. After a moment, King Leopold spoke up, his voice steady and determined. "I propose that we support Kurohito's efforts, but with certain conditions..." "We will send emissaries to oversee the construction and ensure that it aligns with our principles of governance and stability..." King Edwin grumbled, but he reluctantly nodded. "Very well. We shall grant this player a chance to prove himself..." "But if he falters, we must be prepared to step in and take actions..." ... As the entourage made their way through the countryside, the guards from the Savan Village noticed their approach and rushed to inform Kurohito. "Kurohito-sama! A group of riders is approaching the village!.." "They bear the insignia of the Rieburgh Kingdom!" they exclaimed, breathless from their haste. Kurohito's eyes widened in surprise, but he quickly composed himself. He himself has never met the King before. "Prepare a warm welcome for our esteemed guests..." He instructed, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and apprehension. With the villagers buzzing with anticipation, Kurohito stood at the entrance of the village, his heart pounding in his chest. Moments later, the royal entourage appeared on the horizon, their horses moving with a grace befitting their prestigious riders. As they drew nearer, Kurohito straightened his posture, a smile breaking across his face. He waited patiently until the King of Rieburgh dismounted, his regal presence commanding attention. "Your Majesty, welcome to the Savan Village..." Kurohito greeted, bowing respectfully. "I did not anticipate such an esteemed visit..." King Alexander returned the bow with a warm smile. "I wished to see the place that has captured the attention of the Council of Rulers. I must admit, young hero, your endeavors have piqued my curiosity." Kurohito's surprise gave way to a sense of gratitude. "I am honored by your presence, Your Majesty. Please allow me to show you the progress we have made and the dreams we aspire..."
