Arch Angel

2145 Words
The tall, majestic building seemed to pull her in, its warm embrace welcoming her back. Angela Johnson found herself standing just outside the huge doors of the town's local church Angy hadn't attended church since she turned six and her parents had forbad her from tagging along with her grandmother It had never occurred to her to ever come back here until recently, to be more precise, until the events of yesterday. Just recalling what had happened sent shivers down her spine It was one thing to be able to see something which no one else could, but it was a whole different level of crazy to be attracted to said entity. She must have lost her mind completely To latch herself so desperately onto. Eric for release was as annoying as it was arousing. And the way the man had skillfully given her release, made her mouth water just thinking back on it. Angy knew she desired more, she knew she would gladly fall to her knees in front of him in seconds just to feel those slender hands on herself again And that was why Angy was in a church today. She desperately needed to reach out to God, if only He was the only one who could cure her of whatever it was that was plaguing her thoughts. Taking in a deep breath, she pushed open the wooden doors. I must find God again. No matter what, this can not go on Immediately, Angy was taken aback by the beauty of the cathedral. It was even more breathtaking inside. Ribbed vaults made up the structure of the ceiling, their majestic arches reaching high. Sunlight poured through the stained glass windows, bringing life to the religious artwork depicted in the colorful pieces of glass. As she walked down the center aisle, she closed her eyes for a moment, letting the warmth of the sun caress her, washing away all her troubles. This wasn't the same church her grandmother attended, this one was rather new and had only been established a couple of years back. She wasn't stupid enough to attend the very same church Samuel's father worked in. She knew her parents would get to know of her attendance if she went there, the least she wanted at the moment was to have her mother at her throat She took a seat in one of the front rows of the empty room, she didn't know what else to do at this point, was she to pray now? Confess her sins maybe? It was only now that she had gotten close enough to get a good look at the priest on the altar. He looked young, perhaps somewhere between his early to late twenties. He wore a black cassock, along with a silver cross dangling over his chest. He had slightly curly dark brown hair and dark eyes. She found herself immediately drawn to him. He had this angelic, yet somehow dark, powerful aura all around him and in the words he spoke. She listened intently as he preached the words of God, his voice deep and serious Do all priests usually look this hot, or perhaps it was her lust clouding her senses once more? Angy felt even more guilty to have been having such thoughts about the preacher. She was in desperate need of God for sure "The Devil may attempt to lure us, corrupting our souls with sinful desires, but resist his advances. Even in our most difficult battles, we must remain strong and faithful to God, for only He can lead us to true redemption." She heard him say Andy looked around her, wondering if it was always this empty. A part of her felt relieved that it was just her alone. And him. She frowned even deeper in confusion, what in hell was she turning into?! She was here to seek redemption damnit not gawk at a poor priest As he finished his last sentence, he looked up from the lectern and directly at her. Andy felt her breath hitch. The sunlight lit his features up, and it was only now that she noticed he had blue eyes. He began walking towards her, never breaking eye contact. His eyes were a unique shade of dark blue, so dark that many would mistake them for brown. His black cassock flowed around him like a cape, his leather shoes clicking against the smooth marble floor. She found that her heart raced as he got closer " Hello," he said " my name is Uriel. It is a pleasure to meet you" He reached out a hand to her Angy couldn't help thinking just how well the name suited him, he did look angelic though. " Hi, am Angela. It's nice to meet you too" she said, shaking his hand. His large, warm hand almost engulfed her smaller hand, and just this simple detail was enough to stir up those dark, impure thoughts. She mentally shook her head. " Are you new here?" He asked " w..well yeah, but I used to go to the one down the streets" She replied, honestly, she didn't understand why she felt so flustered " Oh really? Then what brings you here if I may ask?" "Um, I don't know. Something just feels off and I thought I should reach out to God again," Angy answered nervously. "May I ask you what this feeling is?" he questioned, taking a seat next to her. He leaned in. Is he supposed to be this close? She opened her mouth to speak but then decided against it. How was she supposed to tell this man, a man of God, that she was having uncontrolled s****l desires? And for impure being for that matter. Would he even believe her if she told him of what she was seeing? It was embarrassing enough to tell anyone and get laughed at, let alone a man she just met who had devoted so much to God. What would he say? She feared that he would give her a look of disgust and simply walk away or perhaps even burst into laughter. Andy looked down, her cheeks turning a flustered shade of red. "There's no reason to be embarrassed," he assured. "Look at me." His hand came to rest under her jaw, tilting her head up to meet his eyes Angela was taken aback, um..was he supposed to be touching her? Something felt a bit off her, perhaps it was the way the sunlight reflected against his skin, she could swear he was almost glowing Even though they hadn't known each other for more than an hour, something about the way he looked at her made her suspect that he already knew exactly what her problems were. Those dangerous, blue eyes seemed to see right through her, making her feel as transparent and vulnerable as the colorful glass windows, In this lighting and angle, his eyes seemed to appear dark brown, and his well-defined cheekbones and jawline cast shadows underneath, showing off his facial structure. " Well" he hummed in approval " I see now why he's obsessed" She found herself bound by his beauty, distracted by how he was analyzing every move she made. His eyes scanned her up and down, taking note of how she fidgeted with her fingers, how her breath quickened, how she kept unconsciously squeezing her crossed legs against each other. Angy broke out of her trance when she felt his arm around her shoulders. She flinched slightly in surprise and looked up at him. Even when both of them were sitting down, Uriel was taller than her " Let me tell you a secret," he said, his voice dropping to a deep whisper. He put his other hand on her right knee. Angy was suddenly very aware of the length of her dress, or how close this priest was to her face " umm...can you not touch me..I.." The handsome priest raised a brow at her words but then seemed to ignore them completely as he leaned even closer than he already was. She could now feel his warm breath on her face " I didn't think I'd get to see you today, but I suppose the sooner I tell you the safer you'll be " " What?" She asks in confusion, she didn't understand the sudden change of mood by the young priest " The devil? Demon? Ring any bells?" " H..how did you..?" " It's what am trying to tell you now. My name is Uriel and I was sent here to warn you" " warn me? B..by who?" " The heavens obviously " he frowned at her as if it should have been clear to her from the beginning " Am the archangel Uriel, I shall be your guardian for now" Andy stared at the man before her for a couple of seconds, she noticed the serious expression on his face as he looked at her expectantly. She blinked for just a moment or two to make sure her mind wasn't making up things again, a hysteric laugh sounded throughout the empty chapel, it took her a while to realize it was coming from her An archangel? What kind of messed up dream did she enter? Who the hell would believe something as ludicrous as that? Having to deal with one demon was enough, she didn't need any more supernatural nonsense in her life. Maybe coming here had been a mistake after all The man beside her narrowed his eyes, displeasure evident in his features " Listen here human, I do not intend to be mocked. If you want to stay safe then you better do as I say" " This is just awesome" she stopped for a breath of air as she wiped the tears that had gathered in her eyes due to laughing too much, " I think I should be going now" She rose from her seat to exit the chapel, she couldn't help but feel that this was a total waste of her time. Andy hadn't stepped too far when a firm grip on her wrist yanked her back to her seat. A pair of dark blue eyes glared down at her " Do you not understand the crisis you are in woman? Do you think I will let you waste my time any further than you already have?" " Waste your time?" She spoke suddenly feeling angry, just who the hell was this guy? Was this how all priests acted? " I have no idea what you're talking about.." " Really? " his eyes raked over her form " Because it seems to me you've been enjoying yourself this whole time" Her face blossomed in a deep shade of red. She couldn't help but feel that perhaps this priest might truly know all she had been through. His words from earlier popped back into her mind and a skeptical look found its way across her face " A..archangel?" " That's right" " But that's impossible. There..there isn't.." The priest leans back on his heels with a huff, his dark blue eyes glowing with annoyance as he stilled her with a gaze. " Fine then," he says, words tight and controlled "This human body is annoying as it is" Angy is startled when a bright, almost blinding light twirled around the priest, beginning just under the sole of his shoe to gradually climbing up covering his entire body Despite having her eyes shut, she could still see the lights even behind her eyelids. An incredibly warm feeling engulfed the whole of her body making her skin tingle in delight " Hurry up and open your eyes human" A voice demanded Angy hesitantly opened her eyes only for her jaw to drop open, not believing what she was seeing Before she wasn't the priest who she had been speaking with earlier, instead a lean figure wrapped in a white shirt and pants with long white hair pulled in a bun, his face was flawless and his skin appeared so white he almost looked like a statue made out of porcelain, what seemed more unrealistic was the tuff of white feathers that made up two pairs of large wings in the purest of white she had ever seen. They dragged to the floor just behind him He..he was beautiful. Too beautiful. Eerily beautiful " Well?" He spoke, voice filled with mirth and self arrogance, he looked at her as if expecting her to crawl on her feet and worship his excellence " Doesn't this convince you human?" Angy couldn't even muster the courage to scream or even be shocked for that matter. Hadn't she met a devil before, it was only a matter of time before others came for her also Was this what her life had turned to all of a sudden?
